"We're closed, Sweetheart." Somebody said in response to a blonde who walked in with disregard to the closed sign on the door.
"I'm not looking for a drink." She arched her brows, and walked up to the bar. "I just want to find Klaus Mikaelson."
"And why exactly do you want to find my brother, Caroline?" A firm voice came from her side, causing her to twitch her head towards it. The original vampire had a serious face to add to his suit.
"Well, he's not exactly answering his phone, and we have things to talk about." She replied in a down-toned voice. "How'd you find me?"
Elijah brought his head up to focus on the blonde vampire, "Well, you arrived in my city rather nosey, so I took it upon myself to follow you."
Caroline shook her head and sighed. Elijah's face went tense as he questioned, "You expect me to believe that you've made your way to New Orleans to have a simple chat—with my brother?" He walked up to Caroline, holding firm eye contact, "What might this 'simple chat' be about?"
"Just tell me where he is, Elijah. You can trust that Klaus wants to hear what I have to say." Caroline said with a bored tone. Elijah didn't move a muscle.
"Look. I'm supposed to be in Europe right now. But I'm here. Looking to talk to Klaus." Caroline shook her head, and shrugged her shoulders with open hands on the bar.
"Well it must be of some importance seems you canceled a trip to Europe." Elijah leaned his side on the bar, and gestured his opposite hand as he spoke. "Care to tell me so I may pass this message on to my brother? If he's not answering his phone, I don't suppose he wishes to speak to you."
"If he knew I was calling to tell him about his child, maybe he would have felt more inclined to answer." Elijah flinched at the mention of his niece. "Take it you're interested to hear what I have to say, then?" Caroline smirked at the original.
"Quite intrigued." The original nodded. He gestured the vampire tending the bar to pour him a drink. He looked back at the blonde "Do tell."
"Where's Klaus? I'm sure he'd be far more intrigued to hear about his daughter's whereabouts." Caroline interrogated.
"Not in any mood to speak. You can tell me everything you had come here planning to tell him." Elijah sent Caroline a smile, and finished his drink.
"Mystic Falls." Caroline gave in. "I'm not 100 percent that it's his daughter attending mine and Ric's school there," she shrugged, "but I put two and two together. Two werewolf parents who happened to have a witch daughter named Hope. And the mother's name is Hayley. I didn't meet her so it could just be a coincidence but still—the names."
Elijah lifted his head and sighed. His face grew firm with an attempt to hide reaction, and he fidgeted his finger on the glass of ice he laid his hand over.
