Hope hesitantly looked up at Klaus once he closed the doors behind him in the art studio. She didn't even know where to begin.
"Hope," Klaus said, his voice seeming loud in the silent room. "I want to show you something," he looked into her eyes, then he walked over to another set of doors. When he opened them, Hope could see multiple complete paintings in the room extension. Klaus walked up to one of them, and Hope followed.

Klaus set his hand on the painting and smiled, "This painting is barely older than you. I painted it while your mother was still pregnant with you." He turned to the side to look at Hope, "I wanted to paint the city my daughter would grow up in."
"I'm sorry," Hope muttered. She looked down at her hands to avoid eye contact with Klaus. "I don't know—." It all just felt too rushed.
"Hope," Klaus looked into her eyes, "Take all the time you need, and when you're ready, ask me anything." He smiled slightly, "I will answer and do for you, anything."
Hope looked up at Klaus. She tilted her head and furrowed her eyebrows, "Why did she leave...? Why did- Mom leave?"
Klaus pulled his eyes away from Hope for a moment. He looked back at her and set a hand on her shoulder, "Well, you had a very crazy grandmother, and her sister, even crazier."
Klaus' voice lost its strength, "Your mother and I had disagreements on the best way to keep you safe from your crazy great aunt." He became unable to keep eye contact with Hope. "Hayley wanted to run, and I wanted to stay; I wanted to fight. We weren't on the best of terms at the time."
"While your mother ran with you, my brother convinced me to deal with the threat. What good would it be to bring you home if the threat was still around?" Klaus titled his head.
"Kol?" Hope questioned.
"No. I have another brother. We aren't on the best of terms right now," Klaus responded, looking down. "After your great aunt was no longer a threat, I searched for you. All over the states. I even searched in Canada a few times."
"That's why we always moved...," Hope's eyes widened. "Every single time we settled somewhere, we left. And it was always so sudden." Hopes eyes watered, "But if you dealt with the threat, why did Mom continue to run?"
Klaus put his hand on Hope's head. "Because she took you from me. And I can't forgive her for the 13 years I lost with my daughter," His eyes watered, and he pulled Hope in for a hug. Hope leaned into his shoulder. Her eyes closed, and tears rolled down.
The hybrid closed his eyes and slid his hand down Hope's hair. He closed his eyes and breathed heavily. "I love you. So very much, my littlest wolf."

"So she really knows everything?" Rebekah said with disbelief and shook her head. She and Freya stood in the living room, looking towards the hall of the art studio.
