Hayley walked over to Hope's room. They've officially been in town for four months. And it's the happiest they've felt in years. Hope is flourishing in school and she's simply happy.

In fact it's never felt more perfect. Hayley smiled. The peace and quiet of looking in her daughter's room, a room she had enough time to settle in, it finally felt safe.

But then Hayley brought herself to the negative thoughts. Like is it too safe? She hasn't heard from Elijah which at first she didn't think too much on because it could mean that they're safe, but it could also mean he's daggered.

Jackson came up behind Hayley and hugged her from behind. "I miss her too." They swayed a little while looking in Hope's room and the beautiful paintings she's started working on and decorating her room with. It's been a few years since their daughter actually sat down to work on a piece. She never felt any want to do so if they were just going to move and leave so many things behind.

Hayley sighed, "Do you ever feel like it's just—too perfect?" She unpinned herself from Jackson and turned around to him.

The werewolf grabbed her hands, "I think you just get paranoid. And for good reason, don't get me wrong," Jackson smiled, getting a chuckle out of Hayley. "How about we enjoy the peace? Hope's happy, so we're happy."

Hayley leaned in for a kiss, then let go, "That we are." Hayley smiled then they quickly kissed one more time.

Jackson then walked away, holding Hayley's hand until he was too far. He grabbed a coat and put it over his shoulder then walked up to the front door.

"Where are you going?" Hayley arched an eyebrow. She locked her hands and turned side to side.

"Shopping." Jackson smiled wide, "Someone's gotta get Christmas dinner for next week." He pulled the door open and walked down the two steps leading out of their house. He looked around to see kids throwing snowballs at each other and build snowmen together. This is the most snow Mystic Falls has had in years, and it's beautiful.

Hayley watched through the window until Jackson backed the truck out of the driveway and drove off. "It's Christmas alright," she smiled.

The brush glided on the canvas, creating detailed curls with each swirl. A light skin tone as the base and pinks and blues to compliment the colors. Hope took a step back to analyze the image. There was just something missing.

"Who's ready for break?" Lizzie and Josie walked in without knocking and shouted. "Ooo, whatcha working on?" Lizzie continued over to Hope.

"A painting for someone." Hope grabbed the canvas and turned it around. "It's not finished."

"I don't know, it looks finished to me." Lizzie raised her eyebrows and shrugged.
