I step outside of Tamar's room to find Nikolai back in his "Sturmhond" look. He's looked better. I step up to him and ask him what we are doing. "Getting ready for a negotiation". Is that really all that was happening that needed me changing. "What for?" I ask. "Trades, prisoners, ships, the usual". I roll my eyes as I walk around the ship looking for if someone needs any help.

Soon a ship pulls up next to us. A plank lowers down connecting the 2 boats. A tall strong man walks across along with a few people with burlap bags on their head. How gruesome. One of the men had a blue kefta on. Tidemaker? No, squaller. I could tell by the silver lining on the hem of the kefta.

"Nice to see you Sturmhond". The man spoke overly confident. He looked like he has a big ego at first glance. The man looks at me then back at Nikolai. "So I see you put my information to good use". He lowers his voice in hopes that I wouldn't hear him. "Good thing too, she's quite pretty". He eyes me down. I felt like puking. I tried to keep my composure but I felt uncomfortable as hell. He was obviously intoxicated and it showed. I tug at the hem on Nikolai's coat in hopes he could help. "I'm sorry Lena I can't fight back yet, he's one of the strongest privateers and I can't risk anything yet." He says quietly. "I promise I'll protect you". I chuckle lightly.

They proceed with their "meeting" and I just stand there staring the the hidden grisha. I was busy tuning out everything in hopes I wouldn't get uncomfortable again. "Oretsev- hello? Are you okay?" I feel Nikolai tap my shoulder. "Huh? Oh yeah sorry" I focus again on the privateers as Nikolai looks at me with concern.

"So can I see them?" Nikolai says pointing to the prisoners. The man's crew takes off the bags revealing each one. Majority of them looked like first army men or lonesome pirates. When they got to the grisha my attention was fully on them. "I think you'll like this guy. Found him afloat on a small piece of driftwood. He seems to be one of the men guarding the Darkling's pet." The man scoffed at the end and looks right at me. Wait, he was with me? Saints now I feel worse about this. They take off the bag revealing a boy.

His blond hair was all messed up and dirtied. His face looks pretty beat up too. He looks up and faces me. I gasp softly. "Adrik" I mumble. He smiles right at me. "Hey" he mutters. Saints I felt like I was going to cry. He was alive and okay. Well partly okay.

Nikolai looks at him then back at me. "We'll take him". I felt a weight lift off my shoulders as Nikolai spoke. I pull Adrik in for a hug. "Wow I was only gone for a couple days, did you miss me that much?" He had a sly smirk on his face. "Oh shut up". I roll my eyes.

Nikolai speaks with a tone in his voice. "Tolya take the boy and clean him up. And please do get him a change of clothes". Tolya nods as he takes Adrik by his arm leading him below deck. "Wait Nikolai that's the jail cells". He looks at me with a a confused sense of feeling in his eyes. Saints I could stare into those eyes of his for ages but now was not the time. He calmly yet sternly says "Well of course he's our prisoner. Don't think I chose him because of you".
