I felt the warmth of his back. His hands holding my legs to his body, keeping me from falling off. My head on his shoulder. His scarlet orange hair ruffling against my face.

——————————
"Will she be okay doc?" I felt the cold metal pressed against my bare skin and the new stitches lining my shoulder. "I can't tell."

——————————
"We need to go to Os Alta." I felt the warmth of the carriage. "No that's going to take to long. That's a 3 day journey, 2 if we're lucky." The raise of voices. "Adrik is right Nikolai. She needs help soon."

"Her heart is steady". I feel Tamar's calloused hand on my chest. "Thank you." I felt the jostle of the carriage wheels running over rocks. And the cool, wet compress on my forehead. "Oh Lena please be okay" Alina's voice.

My skin felt the warm, smooth lips lift off of my forehead. "Saints I can't believe this. Get better love."

—————————
"I think she's up! Her hand moved!" The excited tone of a crew members voice. "That's not a good indicator you idiot".

—————————
I feel the same hand as I held on the boat holding me again. His cute accent talking softly. "We're only a day away".

————————
I let out a soft groan. "Is she okay?" I wanted to laugh at the worry of my boyfriend. I attempt to open my eyes more to see him. "It's okay Adrik we're almost to the palace. Bagraha will be able to help."

————————
"Brother you're back!" I could hear my friends voices in the back. I'm guessing we were back in the little palace. "Oh my god. Paja look." I don't think I've ever heard Zoya's voice so worried before. I feel the heat of my friends bodies over me. "Adrik is this what happens when Lena ends up liking someone like you?" Zoya teases him. He mocks her back as Paja rolls her eyes. "Guys stop arguing. You know the Darkling will be pissed." I hear Adrik inhale through his teeth "shit I forgot she had an audience with him."

—————————
I open my eyes to see the inside of a white room. The walls were lined with gorgeously streaked marble. I could smell the scent of medicine and cleaning products near by. I must've been in an infirmary. I look around for someone, but the room was empty. I sit upright. Jeez who would've left the wounded alone. I look at the time and notice it was around 11ish. I guess everyone is in training. I look to my bedside table to see it filled with flowers and letters wishing me well. I couldn't help but smile.

I try to get up and onto my feet. I felt a lot better than how I was doing on the trip. I grab a pair of clothes at the foot of my bed and change. It was a pair of jeans and a small shirt. I'm guessing my kefta is still being fixed. I head out the door and to Bagraha.

When I get there I slowly open her door. I feel the rush of heat escaping to the cool air. "Get out!" I chuckle. "So grouchy." I see her look up to the door. "Lena you're up." Her face remained expressionless. "Yup, all good thanks to you." I smile as I sit down across from her.

"You know he's been worried?" She says staring at her hands. "The Darkling?" She nods. "You're his little pet anyway. He was worried from the moment you left". She sounded irritated. I pour her some tea to relax her nerves. "Thank you darling". She sips the hot tea slowly. "I would love to keep you around a little longer but you are called to the Darkling". I furrow my brow. "Don't forget to get your kefta in your room before heading over." I smile at her before I head out. "Thank you Bagraha."

I walk into my room. I was tempted to just collapse onto my bed and sleep again. I grab my kefta and change. I catch a glimpse of myself in my mirror. My hair was down, its mix of almost waved hair curling over my shoulders. My face looked less tan than normal and my freckles barely showed - not that it ever really showed before. My cheeks had gotten more fuller after getting better. I looked like my normal self again.

I make my way to the war room, where the Darkling was. I knock on the door. I wore my same expression as I normally did, nonchalant and boring. It took a minute before someone came to the door. "Lena?" He looks at me with a shocked face. "Good evening sir". I look past his shoulder and see the two princes conversing with him. "I'm sorry about interrupting". I see the eldest prince roll his eyes. The Darkling speaks up "no it's fine, we could honestly use your help. It's great to see you." I smile a little as I walk in.

I had missed being in the palace, helping with training and war plans. I stand behind the left of the Darkling's seat, as I normally did.

I make a half-assed bow to the princes "moi soverenyi". The elder looks proud and pompous when I say that while Nikolai snickers at me. He looks up to me and mouths words "I'm happy you're okay. You look good." A slight smile tugs at my lips. He crosses his arms revealing my ring on his hand. I quickly look down at my hand but notice my ring still there. I look at him confused. He mouths over "I just liked it that much". I roll my eyes. He's such a weirdo.
