Lena's POV:
After an hour of crying, eating, drinking, complaining, and continuos waking up then falling asleep on Nikolai's shoulder, I was starting to feel better. Paja and Zoya came up to me to check up on me as they cursed out Adrik (Paja not so much). They both tried to console me but ended up having to go back to work.Eventually all the guests started to leave. "Well Oretsev as much as I loved this little experience, we do have to get going." Nikolai extends a hand out to me once he stands up. I place my hand in his as he helps me up. "Thanks" I mumble. "Oh come on love." He wraps his arm around my shoulders rubs my back. "It'll be alright." I fake a smile as we make our way out the door.
Nikolai walked me all the way to the entrance of my sleeping quarters. "Please do get some rest, for me at least." He smiles as I walk up the stairs to the door. "I will Nikolai. Good night." "Good night Lena." We both smile as we walk opposite ways.
I collapse into my bed as soon as I get inside. The warmth and softness of my bed comforted me. I change out of my dress and into a nightgown. I take off whatever makeup I still had on and undo my hair. Finally, all comfy now. I huddle under my comforter thinking about today.
I avoided thinking about Adrik so I wouldn't cry again. Instead my mind drifted to Nikolai. I smile as I drift off to sleep.

I wake up to the pound of someone's fist at my door. "What the hell" I mutter climbing out of bed. I was cursing off whoever was at the door as I make my way to open it. "Stop knocking already!" I was going to punch whoever was on the other side of the door. I swing open the door ready to curse out whoever was there."Don't you know it's-!" I shut up and try and look nice. "Nikolai? What are you doing here?" I question him as I rub the back of my neck. "Oh sorry I thought you were up already" he purses his lips trying to apologize. "Well I'm up now. What do you need." He ruffles his hair a little. It honestly looked really cute but I didn't say anything.
"I just wanted to know if you wanted to hang out today, since you're technically off?" I smile and try to be polite. "Sure, but I do have a few errands to run if you wanna wait for me" I say. "I'll do it with you. The more time with you the merrier." He smiles at me, his cheeks flushed red. "Ok let me get ready." He nods as I shut the door closed.
After getting ready and cleaned up I open the door to see Nikolai leaning against the wall waiting for me. "Hello love!" He props him self upright and walks up to me. "You ready?" I nod as we walk down the hall together.
"Where too first?" he asks. I couldn't quite remember where I needed to go at the moment. "How about we eat something first?" He smiles and nods as we walk.
We both go separate ways at the end of the hall. "Where are you going Nikolai? The dining hall is this way."
"I know. I was thinking we could try something different" he shoves his hands into his coat pockets. "Oh? Outside of the little palace?" I question. He nods. I felt awkward leaving the palace. I've grown to like the palace. It had all of my needs so I rarely left. But this was Nikolai and I trusted him. I sigh. "Ok let's go."We had made it past the walls of the palace without the guards catching us. We were now in the town. Nikolai and I walked through the crowded streets of the town. It was filled with endless booths promoting their business, jobs and work, plus much more.
A lot of people kept whispering and taking glances at us as we walked by. It was normal for the two of us, Nikolai being the prince and myself being a well known grisha. But it was a little embarrassing and I didn't quite know why. Nikolai takes my arm as we walk around further. "So I don't lose you" he says. I didn't question it but apparently he still felt the need to state that.
We enter a small hole-in-the-wall restaurant. "Nikolai!" A fairly short old man walks up to us and shakes his hand. "Ah I see you got a girl who finally meets your expectations young man."
"Oh no no no!" I exclaim waving my hands in front of myself. "Yes she's right we're just good friends." Nikolai responds, his voice flustered and low. "Sure, that's what everyone says." The guy nods his head as he smirks. I hide my mouth as I blush.
"Can we please sit now" Nikolai says trying to change the subject. "Yeah yeah, you can go to your normal spot." The man waves us off as he rolls his eyes. "Thank you" Nikolai says sarcastically.
Nikolai leads me by my hand to a small booth in the back of the restaurant. It was by the windowsill and it was lined with plants of every variety. The seats were smooth and comfy as a gorgeous wooden table stained with coffee rings sat between the two chairs. I smile as Nikolai gestures for me to sit down. "Here you go my love." I blush slightly as I sit down. Saints I'm going to fall for him if he keeps this up.
