One week after Evangeline broke the news, she was finally showing.

She stepped out of the shower and wiped the fog from the mirror, standing to the side with a small smile.

It was so small, but it was there.

After getting dressed and throwing up her morning breakfast, she met Remus who was waiting in her living room.

"Ready?"

"I suppose."

The two arrived at a muggle hospital, "so why do you want us to come here?" Aurora questioned, mindlessly filling out paperwork the receptionist gave her.

"Well, ultrasounds aren't really a thing in the Wizarding World," he lowly said so nobody else could here.

"Ultrasound?"

He smiled lightly, "you'll see."

After she finished her paperwork and handed it in, she waited anxiously next to Remus. After nearly fifteen minutes, her name was called.

She and Remus were guided into a room that looked a lot less cozy than the rooms she knew at St. Mungo's.

Her eyes landed in a bulky white screen with a screen on top of it, "what is that?"

The nurse chuckled lightly, "first time?"

"Yes..."

"Nothing to worry, Miss Vandeleur. If you could just lie down on the table for me."

She did as the nurse said, Remus sitting in the chair next to the bed.

"So, when did you learn you were pregnant?"

"Last week," Evangeline replied.

"And you are the father?" She asked, earning a nod from Remus.

She hummed while writing down notes on a clipboard, asking questions here and there.

"If you could lift up your shirt and pull down your pants lightly, we can get started," the nurse said while powering up the machine next to her before flickering off the lights.

She glanced at Remus, who gave her an encouraging nod. She let out a small sigh and did as the nurse said, eyeing a bottle she picked up.

"This will be a bit chilly..."

She jumped at the cold gel being squeezed on her stomach. The nurse used a transducer probe and pressed it on her stomach, moving the gel around.

She felt Remus reach for her hand, which she gladly took and squeezed for dear life.

The two looked at the screen as nurse moved the probe around, a small object finally coming into view.

"And there's your little one," the nurse kindly said, "looks like you're around seven weeks along."

Everything became much more real for her.

This was really happening.

"Merlin..."

"Merlin?" the nurse asked.

"Does everything look alright?" Remus questioned.

The nurse nodded, "everything looks perfectly normal. We can determine the sex at around fourteen weeks should you wish too. A heartbeat won't be able to be detected through this form of an ultrasound until about ten weeks, though we could do a vaginal ultrasound-"

Evangeline quickly shook her head, "no no, I can wait."

She gazed at the screen with a heart feeling fuller than it had in weeks. All she saw was a blob, but it was a child.
