Deceit in their silence - Completed

Ten.

"Lennox-" Jaxson started walking towards me and I just pushed passed them both. Heading straight for the stairs. He followed after me as he had just a few days before and grabbed my wrist as I started up the stairs. 

"Let go of me Jaxson." 

"Let me explain." I stayed looking away as he tried to pull me back. I saw Roman and Sonny slowly walking towards him and I held my other hand up telling them to stop. 

"I've told you once Jaxson. What happens next is entirely up to you. And I have witnesses to me telling you so it is completely your decision." 

"Lennox please, 5 minutes. That's it. That's all I need and I can walk out of here and never bother you again." I closed my eyes and sighed, shaking his hand from me. If 5 minutes was all he needed and I could be rid of him permanently then so be it. I turned my head and looked at Roman. 

"5 minutes. If he's not out in 6 you drag him out. Understand?" He nodded and I walked up the stairs. 

I pushed open my bedroom door and threw my phone and earphones on the bed as he walked in. 

"You've not changed a thing." He looked around the room and I crossed my arms. 

"Talk, times ticking and I want you out of my life." He nodded and took a step forward. 

"I promise it wasn't what it looked like. We were flirting like we used to do at parties. I was just playing the game and she took it too far. I was wasted and she looked like you. She kissed me and I kissed her back but she didn't taste or smell like you. I called her your name and she shook her head. I pushed her back and she feel to the floor. I was furious, threw the flower vase across the hall and she started crying that she was sorry. Then I came to find you and you were gone. I swear to you Len, it was all just a misunderstanding. I thought she was you. She was even wearing the same colour dress and you both had long straight brown hair. I could barely see straight as it was." 

"That's such a poor generic excuse it's sickening." He stepped closer to me and I dropped my hands. "One more step and I'm swinging."

"I'm sorry Lennox. I didn't know that's what happened, what you saw otherwise I wouldn't have kept my distance all this time. Tell me you believe me and I'll spend forever making it up to you I swear." 

"I don't believe you."  He ran his hand through his hair, pulling it off his face. His eyes were pastel blue now. Standing this close again after last night was starting to hurt again. It wasn't painful anger. 

"How can I make you believe me?" He took another step forward and I swung my fist quickly. He grabbed it, stopping it before it came into contact with him. "Don't do something you'll regret Lennox." 

"I warned you and I wouldn't regret it." 

"Would it make you feel better?"

"Probably."

"Then do it. I won't stop you." 

"That takes the fun out of it if you know it's coming." 

"Okay fine. One free punch whenever you're ready. Anything else?" 

"I'm not punching you Jaxson."

"Your prerogative. Now come on your brothers going to barge in here any seconds. How can I fix it?" 

"I don't know if we can fix it Jaxson. I can't trust you. Not now." 

"Then lets just start with you believing me. How." 

"I don't know. I'd have to have her confirm it all I guess?" 

"Okay leave it with me. I'll sort it. Once she does can we actually talk? Please?" 

"I don't know Jaxson." The door burst open and Roman stood at the door with his arms crossed and Sonny behind him. I looked at them both and nodded that I was fine.

"Okay fine one step at a time. I'll be in touch. I'll see you real soon Len." He turned around and walked out without the need for Roman or Sonny. Once he was out of sight I sighed and sat down on my bed, quickly laying backwards. 

"What did he say?" Roman gently closed the doors and pulled down the sleeves of his black shirt he had on and walked over to me whilst he buttoned them. 

"That it was all a misunderstanding. He was wasted couldn't see straight and she was wearing same colour dress and also had her long brown hair down and straightened, she kissed him and when he realised he threw her to the ground broke a vase and came looking for me but I was gone." I stared at the ceiling processing everything. I knew this would happen if I told him what I had seen. Maybe the girls remember anything after I left that would help. That would mean telling them what happened and then they'd all give me that look 'd been avoiding. 

"Do you believe him?" 

"I don't know. I told him I'd have to hear it from her directly. Maybe if the girls remember anything. It was at Iris' maybe she remembers if the vase broke? I don't know what I'm thinking or feeling right now." I pulled my phone out and held it above my head. 

"What are you doing?" 

"Seeing where the girls are. I need the groups decision." I smiled and he laughed. 

"Are you guys going to take a vote or something?" 

"Not or something that's probably exactly what we will do after I speak to Amelia and get her side." He shook his head as I dialled Daisy's number. 

"Hey Len, what's up?" 

"Hi Dais, where are you all?" 

"Just at Lex's why?" 

"I'm coming over. I need us to discuss something. I'll be there in 10." 

"Okay see you soon I guess." I hung up the phone and stood up and walked to my wardrobe. "Don't tell dad what's going on please. The last thing I need right now is him thinking that there could be a single possibility of me and Jaxson fixing this." 

"Is that what you're thinking?" 

"I don't know right now. You know I won't ever say that 4 letter word. But the way he makes me feel is so bizarre. Like currently when he's close I feel like I'm suffocating. I can't breathe. But when he's not, I miss him. I miss the whole not being able to breathe because at least he's there. Then last night, when he held my hand, everything felt like it did before. But I was trying to push it away with anger." I pulled a sweater over my head and grabbed my car keys and phone from the side. 

"Let me know what you decide to do." He smiled and walked out with me.
