He pulled me to the hallway as the footsteps above us reached the stairs, holding me against the wall behind him. I heard the door behind us at the bottom of the hall start to open and squeezed his leg.

"We've got this." I said under my breathe. I don't know if I was trying to convince myself or him. I knew I could handle an invasion but this scale was unlike anything I'd seen. Maybe that's why dad had hired Sonny, because he was expecting something like this.

The first shot was fired towards us and hell broke loose in my safe haven. My adrenaline kicked in and instinct to survive took over. I raised my gun, shooting as the door opened and 3 men appeared. 3 shots from the gun and 3 bodies laying on the floor.

I slowly stepped away from Jaxson checking the other 3 rooms on our way to my dad's study. I threw open the doors gun first. They were all empty. I grabbed his hand in the gun fire and pulled him into my dad's office. He stood at the side of the door as I unlocked dads cupboard and threw him a second gun and bullets for his first. He shot out of the window at a figure and I closed and re locked the safe. I walked over to him and handed him a knife just in case.

He nodded to the window and I smiled, sneaking out of it to catch them from the back. I stuck my head out first to make sure it was safe. There was one figure stood by the porch door, he had his back to me, looking in on the action. I creeped up behind him slicing his throat and throwing him to the floor. I wiped his blood on my legs so I wasn't sloppy shooting. I looked over my shoulder and rolled my eyes at the blood splatters over my lounge set.

I slowly opened the door, listening to the group shouting in the corridor. They were shouting for me to come out and it all stopped.

"Looking for me?" I smirked at the end of the hallway and they turned. Jaxson pulled open the office door then and we shot from both sides, taking them out one by one with in seconds.

The front door pushed open and I turned on my feet gun pointing forward. I saw Sonny's face and sighed. I pointed upstairs, getting him to check that whilst I started on the other half of the house.

I continued through the house, throwing open the doors and checking them. I came across two more men, just climbing in through a front window. I shot them before they were even inside. I felt a hand touch the lower of my back and instantly spun around, holding my knife to their throat.

"It's only me." I let my hand down and we both walked out of the room, heading to the gym as the last room. There was 3 loud shots upstairs followed by Sonny shouting it was clear. I stepped into the gym which was the only room in the house fully closed off with no windows or doors. They couldn't have gotten in here and with the rest of the house clear I knew we'd be safe in here.

"Sonny. Just grab some more ammo in case some more turn up. " I ordered as he got to the doorway of the gym. "Fuck, there must have been at least 30 of them." Jaxson nodded and sat down silently. He was pale. "Jax?" I looked over him, looking for a sign point me to where he was clearly hurt. "Talk to me."  He pulled at his right arm sleeve and I could see in the dim light it was slightly darker than the rest. I helped him pull it off and stared at the blood running down his arm quickly.

I looked around and grabbed a gym towel from the boxing ring, handing it to him as there was more shots outside.

"Don't move." I said to him as I ran to the door.

"I'm supposed to protect you not the other way around."

"Well you can't exactly do anything can you. Plus I'm a better shot than you are." I laughed and pulled open the door, staring down the hall at another handful of men. I don't know why they want me or who sent them but they we're trying to intimidate us clearly. I let out 3 quick shots and ducked back behind the door. Jaxson was stood now coming back towards me. He threw me his gun, knowing I'd be out of bullets and with his best arm gone, he wouldn't be much use right now.

I shot out another 2, hitting them straight in the middle of the forehead. There was one left. I shot the gun from his hand and then his kneecap. I needed answers. I slowly walked down the hallway, stepping over the bodies now starting to pile up in my house. The guy was collapsed on the floor. I put one foot on his knee I had shot straight through and grabbed the hand he had been holding the gun in. I pushed down on my knee watching him scream in pain.

"Who sent you?" I squeezed his hand in mine and he shook his head. "Don't feel like talking?" I pushed down harder and he laughed. "Laughing really isn't going to make this any fucking better. I'll ask you one more time before I start breaking bones. Who. Fucking. Sent. You?" I cracked one of his fingers with my other hand as a warning not to fuck with me.

"FINE. The Morello's. Something about a bank robbery gone wrong because of you." I let go of him and smiled, pulling the gun from the back of my pants.

"Thank you. Anymore of you coming or is this it?" He stared into my eyes and I held the gun above his head. "I can put you out of your pathetic misery now or keep breaking bones. Your choice."

"This is it. I swear." I nodded and pulled the trigger.
