It was the day before Hiccup's final exam and he was not taking that well. As soon as he managed to escape the crowd of vikings he ran to his house and packed his things. Then without thinking, he ran off towards the clearing where his best friend was waiting for him. Little did he know of the blonde girl following behind him.
Astrid ran through the forest attempting to keep up with Hiccup who was, suprisingly, fast. Her legs pounded the forest floor trying not to loose sight of him. She managed to arrive at a clearing just in time to see a black dragon sprinting towards her hidden crush.
"HICCUP!" she yelled at the top of her lungs, in an attempt to warn him, before a purple bolt struck at her feet and all went black.
"Toothless!" Hiccup exclaimed angrily but he was secretly relieved "That was my friend! Wait... What was she doing here?"
Toothless gurgled something before lifting Hiccup onto his back.
"Alright bud, we're going" and with that they flew off, leaving their home ,and the unconscious girl, behind them.
Hiccup guessed that Astrid would assume he was dead from the blood stains from Toothless' messy eating. But he was okay with that. Just as long as he never had to see Berk again.
And his guess was right
Astrid awoke and felt a sharp pain in her head as she shot up. Then she remembered. The dragon. The purple bolt. Hiccup. Wait.
"HICCUP" she shouted at the top of her lungs while looking around. The stone around the circular ditch was covered in red. Blood.
Hiccup was gone. The dragon killed her one true love.
