"My father is alive?" There was an uncertain feeling that was beginning to grow at the pit of my stomach. I always held to the thought that there was a reason why he never came back for me. At one point, I felt like that reason was because he was already dead. It was possible and perhaps the only logical reason and then it came the time that my body just believed it. I just live my life believing my father already died."Very much so" Serena answered me. "He had been communicating with us every now and then. You know Anthony had never stopped looking for him, in fear that he might become a threat. Marcus initially was just trying to run away from these people until he had gotten tired and flipped the pages on them. With the help of some private army force, he managed to get a few of them. When Anthony heard this, he sent out for more people to kill everyone including his own men but Marcus keeps getting them. Now they are all hidden somewhere in the country that even Anthony does not know. When they had learned that Anthony has been ordering for them to be killed as well, they had all started to testify against him as the mastermind in all the killings that had happened. To top that, they started giving out evidences as well in exchange for their safety. Anthony knows there are tick bombs and up to now he is still searching for them."
"So the reason he never came back--"
"Was because he didn't want you to get hurt" Gray said. "He knew he always had guns on his head and he was afraid that coming to you would only put you to even more danger"
"But he is safe right now and he has always been watching you. He is very proud of how far you have come"
I smiled. I understood somehow. Anthony couldn't touch me because Alec was beside me. I was safe at the moment and my father was safe. Now I'm only looking forward to finishing all of these and finally meeting my father again.
I nodded and calmed my nerves to focus once again.
"Now, I know you are very curious about where all these money are." Serena said. "Listen carefully"
I nodded.
"The 30% from the Anderson Corporation that has been missing is actually worth quarter of a billion dollars. Have you all heard about Topnet Securities?" Serena asked.
"It is currently the top brockerage company in the whole of America. Bill Caster, the president of this company is currently the world's 3rd richest man in the world, first in the country. My father used to hold that spot but he was beat to it." Alec answered.
"That is right. That's Topnet Securities. But that has not always been the case. Decades ago, it was a failing company. Bill had struggled to keep it going due to the sudden drop of stocks. He was on the verge of bankrupcy and closing the company down until Viktoria reached for him. Bill was still very young at this point but Viktoria saw how intelligent he was and that his company had a potential. She offered to help him out. She had actually invested the entire 250 million to his company which is way more money that what Bill had started from. Technically she just bought the whole company. Viktoria's only request was to keep the entire transaction between the two of them. Her main reason for doing this was to somehow gain financial independence from the Graysons.
Bill was able to use this money to reinvest and kept the company growing. He kept going as the CEO/President in public and had agreed to keep it a secret. Now his company had grown very big. A few years ago, Gray and Sarah had gone to meet him and showed him your grandmother's last will saying that you are the sole heir of all her assets."
"At first we thought there was no way he was going to hand over a big company like these without any questions asked" Gray explained. "But instead of pushing us away, he was actually very happy."
