School ended. I wanted to get my own place so I got a job and this ice cream shop called 'Scoops Ahoy' with Steve and this other girl called, Robin. She's nice. Star court mall opened up and El was finally allowed to be a normal teenager. Although she couldn't go to school but she could go out for a certain amount of time. It's crazy how much my life has changed in almost 2 years. And it was finally over. Or so I thought.

I serve a customer when Max, Mike, Will and Lucas come up.
"Steve!" I shout.
"Again, seriously?" He asks and takes them to a secret door that leads to the cinema.
"I swear, if anybody hears about this-"
"We're dead!" They all shout in unison.
He sighs and slams the door behind us.
"I hate this job." I groan.
"Me too. It's less annoying because of you." Steve says and smiles at me. I smile at him back and serve some customers when the power goes out.

"That's weird." Steve says.
I start getting this really bad feeling about everything and start panicking and flipping the switch.
"Move." Steve says and does the same thing as me.
"That isn't gonna work, dingus." Robin says.
"Oh, really?" He asks and starts flipping it faster.
I start getting this really bad pounding headache.
"Jesus." I say holding my head.
The power comes back on and the headache stops.
"Let there be light." Steve says. Robin rolls her eyes and him.

the next day

I wake up and get changed ready for work.
"You look silly." El says.
"Trust me, I know." I say and drive to star court mall.
Once I get there I see Steve opening the ice cream parlour.
"Hey." He says.
"Hey. Doesn't Dustin come back today?" I ask Steve and he shrugs. The customers start piling in in the afternoon.

"Alright, one scoop of chocolate. That's a $1.25." Steve says serving some customers.
"Ooh, Purdue. Fancy." Steve says reading the college off this girls shirt.
"Yeah, I'm excited." The girl smiles.
"Yeah, you know, I considered it, Purdue, but then I was like, you know what? I really think I need some real life experience, you know." Steve says and the girls look at each other.
"Before I hit college, see what it feels like. Kinda like, I don't know. See what it's like to earn a working man's wage." Steve says. I try to stop myself from laughing. The girls start laughing and I can tell he starts to feel stupid.
"Yeah, totally." The girl says.
"Yeah, anyway, this was like so fun. We should kinda like, maybe hang out this weekend or next weekend or I don't know." Steve says.
"Yeah, I'm busy." The girl says.
"Oh, that's cool. I'm busy too. So-" Steve begins.
"Steve." I say and he stops talking and they walk off.
"And another one bites the dust. You are 0-6, popeye." Robin says adding another tally to her board.
"Yeah, yeah, I can't count." Steve says.
"You know that means you suck." Robin adds.
"Yup. I can read, too." Steve says.
"Since when?" I ask.
"It's this stupid hat. I am telling you, is it totally blowing my best feature." Steve says.
"Yeah, company policy is a real drag. You know, it's a crazy idea but have you considered, I don't know, telling the truth?" Robin asks.
"Oh, you mean, that I couldn't even get into Tech and my douchebag dads trying to teach me a lesson, I made three bucks an hour and I have no future? That truth?" Steve asks. I look at the customers coming and see that they're girls. I tap Steve on the shoulder and he turns around and takes off his hat.
"Wow, you're a whole new man." I joke.
"Right?" He asks grinning. I laugh and he turns around.
"Ahoy, ladies! Didn't see you there!" Steve shouts startling the girls, "Would you guys like to set sail on this ocean of flavour with me? I'll be your captain. I'm Steve Harrington."
The girls start giggling and laughing at him. I look at Robin who was already laughing.
"Can I get you guys a little taste of the cherries jubilee? No? Anybody? Banana boat? Four people, four spoons? Share it in the booth? Anybody? It's hot out there." Steve says. I push him out of the way.
"Sorry about him. What can I get you guys?" I ask them.
After I've served them I go over to Steve in the back and grin at him as he mopes.
"Ahoy, ladies!" I shout mocking him.
"Shut up." He groans.
"What happened to pretending you don't care?" I ask and he smiles at me sarcastically.

After work I go home and get changed and lay on my bed when I hear a tapping on my window. I look outside my window and see Steve. I laugh and open the window letting him in.
"Gross. We aren't 16 anymore." I say.
"Yeah, I know but for old times sake." He smiles. I lock my door and we both sit on my bed. And he starts frowning.
"What's wrong?" I ask him and he sighs.
"I'm worried that I have no future. I couldn't even get into Tech. I'm worried that I'll just be working as an ice cream man for the rest of my life." He says.
"That's not true. I'm sure there's other jobs, okay? You won't be an ice cream man for the rest of your life." I reassure him and hear music go on. It's coming from Els room. I'm guessing Mike is over.
"It's from Els room." I say and he nods and comes close to me. He leans in and starts kissing me. I put my hands around his neck and kiss him back.

He sneaks back out my window and I just feel regret.
