[6] The Gate

"The gate." Me, Steve and Dustin say in unison.
"I don't understand, you've seen this before?" Robin asks as we run away.
"Not exactly." Steve says.
"Then what, exactly?" Robin asks.
"All you need to know is it's bad." Dustin says.
"It's really bad." Steve says.
"Like, end of the human race as we know it kind of bad." Dustin says.
"And you know about this how?" She asks.
"Um, Steve? Where's your Russian friend?" Erica asks and we look around and see that the Russian that Steve knocked out isn't there anymore. An alarm starts blaring and Steve opens the door and looks and we see Russians running towards us.
We keep running until we get to another room and me, Robin and Steve hold the door.
"Lizzy, go!" Steve screams.
"I'm not leaving you!" I scream back.
"Don't try and be cute, just go!" He screams and I run with Dustin and Erica.

We hide in a vent and Dustin tells Erica what happened over the last 2 years.
"So when we set fire to the hub, we drew the Demodogs away so El could close the gate. But now, for some insane reason, the Russians appear to be trying to reopen it, which just destroys everything we risked our lives for." Dustin explains.
"By 'we' you're including Lucas?" Erica asks.
"" Yes, of course." Dustin says.
"So, all that shit you told me, Lucas was there?" Erica asks.
"Mm-hm." Dustin says.
"My brother, Lucas Charles Sinclair?" Erica asks again.
"Yes!" Dustin yells.
"Wait, Charles?" I ask and laugh.
"Mm-hm. I don't believe you." Erica says.
"Wait, so you believe everything about El and the gate and the demodogs and the Mind Flayer, but you question your brothers involvement?" Dustin asks.
"Correct." Erica says.
"Makes total sense." I say.
I climb through the vents trying to find another way out.
"Lizzy! I did it!" Dustin shouts and I go back and see that he's stopped the fan. We climb through it and keep climbing.

We climb up to this room where we see loads of those green liquid things.
"Jackpot." Dustin says.
Dustin chuckles and runs down some stairs with me and Erica following behind him. We see one of those carts that the Russians use to get around.
"I don't like the idea of you driving." Erica says to Dustin.
"That's why, I'll be driving." I say and see that you need a key to power it.
"Aw, come on." Dustin exclaims.
"You seriously thought they'd just leave keys in there?" Erica asks.
"There's gotta be a spare." Dustin says ignoring Ericas comment.
He looks around when Erica wonders around.
"Hey Dustin?" Erica asks.
"Yeah?"
"How big did you say that Demogorgan was?" She asks.
"Big. Nine feet or so. Why?" Dustin asks and keeps looking for the keys. He finds them and chucks them to me and I start the cart.
"Erica?" Dustin shouts and she appears behind him with a massive electric taser.
"What the hell is that?!" Dustin asks.
"A deadly weapon by the looks of it." I say.
"Could be useful." Erica says then turns it on again and makes Dustin jump back.
"For what?" He asks.
"What do you think, idiot?" I ask.
"Taking down commies, saving your boyfriend and Robin." Erica looks at me when she says boyfriend.
"He's not my boyfriend." I say.
"Mm-hm." She says not buying it.
"I thought you were more realistic than that, nerd. We don't even know where they are, and even if we did, there are a million guards up there with weapons say deadlier than that. The best thing we can do for them is to get out of here and find help." Dustin says ans gets in the cart.
"Bullshit. We need to find them." I say and start driving.

We run into a room and Dustin gets the taser and tasers this Russian. We find Steve and Robin tied up together. I look at Steve and he looks really badly hurt.
"Oh my god, what the hell did they do to you?!" I ask.
"Hopper! My bestest friend!" He chuckles.
"Are you okay?" I ask him and Dustin unties them.
"Get ready to run." Dustin says.
We get them in the cart and then keep I drive quickly.
