Waiting On A Villain's Rescue

"And do you remember when that dirt child fell over alongside our table?" Zim reminisced while uncontrollably cackling, "You laughed so hard you almost choked!"

"You're no better, Zim!" You stated, turning to face him, "Their parents were mortified when they saw you pointing and mocking the kid!" You tried to keep a straight face as you spoke, but failed to let yourself remain calm as you also began to burst into a fit of hysterics. The ship was filled with the sound of your and Zim laughing over the memories you shared over the night you'd just had. It was spent with Zim having taken you out for a romantic date to the movies followed by a nice, relaxing dinner out by the city center in a beautifully decorated restaurant. While Zim wasn't overly keen on the idea of going out for dinner with you, he'd made a conscious effort to put aside all his troubles and focus on trying to make you as pleased as possible. Your relationship with Zim hadn't grown very much just yet as it was still only the early stages of your shared connection with each other, but you were hoping it would naturally work its way up to progressing a little further with every date you went on. And with how delightful tonight had been for you both, especially that random little moment with some strange, hyperactive kid tripping over at the restaurant, you were very much satisfied that Zim even asked you out in the first place.

You weren't one to get too worked up over the little things, but having found yourself dating an alien you couldn't help but read all the signs he showed, whether he meant it or acted on them subconsciously. And tonight, what struck you the most was when, at the very beginning when Zim picked you up from your house, he grabbed your hand and took you by complete surprise when he placed a soft, gentle kiss on the back of your palm. On the outside, a smile traced along your lips and your cheeks flustered into a bright red hue, but internally you had to try with all your might to stop yourself from screaming and breaking out into a sweat over how fast your heart was racing. From then on, all signs have been positive and even though you weren't quite sure if Zim knew how he made you feel, you were hoping all this romantic exploration would continue a little more before the night ends.

Having reached your street, Zim carefully parked the Voot Cruiser just outside your house where the footpath extended right outside the windshield door. With the glass protector retracting itself back, you were immediately aware of the cool breeze blowing gently across your face, tingling along your skin the more it entered inside the interior of the ship. Zim was hardly fazed as you watched him jump out from his side and walk around the outside of the ship to where you remained, extending an open hand to you to help you climb out over the dash. You graciously accepted, feeling butterflies form in your stomach as soon as you felt the touch of his hand wrap around yours. His disguised face held a charming smile, one that made you blush immensely every time you saw him, and in return you couldn't help but smile back at him. Your feet planted themselves firmly on the ground as you dusted yourself off with your free hand, neatening out your clothes.

"I've had such an amazing time tonight, Zim." You exclaimed while looking up at him. "Did you maybe want to come in for a bit?" You offered politely, a hopeful gleam in your eyes begging for his answer to be an excited yes.

"Not tonight, sweet human." He detested, trying his best to not offend you. "It's getting late and I can imagine your body has a desire to rest. Besides, I must get back home to Gir. Who knows what potential amount of damage he could cause the longer I'm away from the base."

You sighed lowly to yourself, though you tried your best to hide your sorrow as you masked your face with a contented smile. "What about tomorrow night?" You asked curiously, though you were prepared this time for his answer to remain doubtful.
