'And thus concludes my daily report, sirs!' Zim concluded, saluting the Tallest as he spoke to them through the computer screen. 'Expect a call back from me tomorrow! INVADER ZIM, SIGNING OFF!'
And with that, the communication was cut as the Tallest were left standing in front of the giant Irken computer screen, staring at it with dull eyes as white static flashed all around it. After a long, agonizingly boring call with Zim, they both turned to look at each other with the same blank expressions.
'You know, why do we even let him call us?' Red asked out loud in bewilderment, 'Why can't we just block all his transmissions?'
'Because he keeps hacking into the system to unblock himself.' Purple replied, scrunching his fingers between his eyes in annoyance. 'And besides, because Zim fails more than any other Invader, it gives us one reason why we actually want to accept his call.'
'Yeah...' Red nodded, turning around to face the main station where all the piloting Irkens were stationed. 'If only we were around to experience all his failures, instead of always having to endure the constant nagging and bragging that we get from him.'
'Can.. can you imagine...' Purple paused, holding back a laugh as he continued to speak, 'watching a live feed, seeing all the times Zim almost blows himself up?'
Red quickly joined in on this as he laughed from imagining the very scenario. 'Yeah. Or whenever his own inventions turn on him?' Both Purple and Red began to burst out into laughter as they continued to imagine the thought of Zim being unsuccessful in everything he does. After a few moments of constant cackling, they both resigned themselves back to normal as they slowly calmed down, a present smile still held on their faces. In a split second, Red's eyes suddenly peeled open, glowing in excitement as he turned back to his comrade.
'Hey Purple...' He began, catching Purple's attention. 'How many cameras do we have lying around?'
'Quite a few, I believe.' Purple answered, furrowing one eye as he tilted his head to the side. As he looked at Red in confusion, he then quickly understood what he meant as though a light bulb just went off in both of their heads. They both started to laugh again, only this time manically as they conjured up a plan to do exactly what they had just asked for.
Meanwhile, back on Earth, Zim was busy experimenting with one of his old devices down in his lab, tweaking it up and trying to get it to work, when all of a sudden the sound of the doorbell rang through the house, activating all the alarms to go off at once. Startled, Zim stopped what he was doing immediately and went to go investigate, bringing himself over to the elevator where he ascended up to ground level, stepping off and frantically pacing over to the front door. Upon opening it, he peaked his head out and looked around, a confused expression was made visible as he noticed no body was around. As he was closing the door back over again, he stopped as his eyes glanced down, taking notice that there was a cardboard package with the name ZIM labelled on it. Reaching over and picking it up, he turned back around and headed inside, placing the cardboard box down on the floor as he began to open it up eagerly.
'WHACHU DOIN?'
Zim jumped back at the sudden sound of GIR's curiosity bursted out from beside him, sighing in relief when he realized what it was.
'Someone sent me a package, GIR,' Zim responded, continuing to dive deeper into the box, 'though I'm not sure who it's from.' As he pushed all the packing peanuts out of the way, he pulled out what appeared to be a tall, metal rod, decorated with a silly looking design of what appeared to resemble a bee. Holding it out from the box, Zim examined it with annoyance in his eyes.
