A Clueless Lovebug - Part One

The Irken Empire; a densely populated race of green, bug-eyed alien species living on the planet Irk, infamously popular amongst various other known races all across the galaxy. These little guys are known for one thing; spreading love and happiness across every planet they can possibly find. They thrive on dominating various life forms with their intense amount of affection that they so eagerly want to share. But in order for these Irken invaders to go out and do just that, they must first pass one simple test; prove that they have what it takes to fall in love themselves. They must show this sort of affection to prove they have the knowledge of what it takes to be an invader and to help others achieve the same feeling as well. If an Irken fails to do so, which has never happened in the history of the Irken Empire, they would either be stripped of their invader rank and banished to a land of exhile where they would live out the rest of their days alone and miserable. Since hat has never happened, there has never been any need to do such a thing, and the leaders of Irk, The Almighty Tallest, had never thought they could bring themselves to do such a thing to one of their own kind. In fact, no one had ever thought an Irken would struggle to fall in love.

That was until Zim came around... an Irken that looked just like everyone else, but struggled to find someone to call his love. Every day was hard for this little invader, he would walk around the crowded lands of his home planet, always taking notice of how everyone was paired up with someone else, sharing a special bond with someone that he was unlucky enough not to have. Many others took notice of him, and many tried as best as they could to help him out, but every attempt lead to a miserable failure with the little Irken always ending up with a heart that continued to love no one.

Everything felt like it was playing out for the worst for Zim, especially when he heard the news that a second operation for world conquest was about to take place and the great assigning was about to begin. Unfortunately, through all his trials and all his tests, Zim was rejected from his mission in the Empire's first operation due to failing the understanding of how love works and how to produce it to something or someone else. And with the new assigning about to begin, a part of him felt like it just wasn't worth the trouble of asking for a mission if he knew he was going to be rejected again. But that wasn't like Zim to just give up when he has the option of trying again. Zim had a personality that was different from every other invader; he was confident, self assured, arrogant, and some might even say selfish, but it was always in his best intentions to live up to what he believed in.

So what did he do? He crashed the assigning, of course!

As soon as The Tallest saw Zim pushing his way rudely through the crowd and climbing up on top of the stage, they felt a sudden wave of frustration and embarrassment flow over them. Now you see, The Tallest didn't exactly have a soft spot for Zim, but rather, they just felt sympathy for him. Zim was considered to be a rare case in the sense of he'd never fallen in love before. It's not that his arrogance or over self-confidence got in the way, it's just that he felt like he hadn't found the right one for him yet. He'd met every other Irken that was his age, and he knows almost everything about everyone, and of course everyone knows the name of Zim, still he just kept finding himself stuck in a loveless loophole that he couldn't seem to get out of. He's tried several things to help him feel this desire this species crave, but nothing ever worked, and deep down, he feared that it never would work. But this little Irken never gave up, no matter how many times his efforts ended up being turned to trash.

'Zim, we've told you about this,' Red spoke softly, looking down at Zim, 'we can't assign you a planet. We gave you one last time and you got rejected from it.'
