One sided // jakehoon

jake took a deep breath and quickly stood up from the table. "thank you hoon. but i just realized that i have to go.." jake scanned his mind for any excuse but nothing came out, this only made sunghoon laugh quietly.

"i see. can i give you a ride home then?" sunghoon asked right away, smiling gladly.
jake felt like his heart was going to explode any moment now.

first, sunghoon said a bunch of sweet things to me.. now he's offering me a ride home??
i must be dreaming.

jake smiled a little when he noticed sunghoon still staring at him, waiting for his answer. he couldn't say no, he had no reason to. he also didn't feel like walking back anyways.
"okay, sure.. if you really want to." sunghoon chuckled and stood up, placing a hand on jakes shoulder which didn't calm down how fast his heart was currently beating just by staring at the boy.

"of course i want to, i haven't seen you in a while and you just made me realize how much i missed you." sunghoon said, ruffling jakes hair but jake only stared at him, his lips parting a bit as he was shocked.

"you missed me?" jake managed to only mumble what he wanted to ask. sunghoon smiled sweetly and nodded,

"yes i missed you. you're one of my best friends. why wouldn't i?"

oh.

jake laughed out of awkwardness and slowly nodded his head, of course, he would miss me like that. ah how could i be so stupid?

sunghoon grinned, not noticing jakes distress obviously as he grabbed his coffee. he left the café with jake following close behind.

the ride to jakes apartment was short, only a five-minute drive.

jake stayed quiet the whole time as he listened to sunghoon quietly singing to the song on the radio, which he usually would sing along to but his nerves were taking over him.

"thanks for the ride, hoon." jake said politely as they pulled up at his apartment, jake was surprised because sunghoon knew where he lived.. he realized he didn't even tell him that but he decided not to question it. yet.

he unbuckled himself while sunghoon grinned and looked over at the younger. "anytime... let's hang out soon, yeah?"

jake slowly nodded, looking back at him. the sun was just now beginning to come up and jake couldn't stop thinking of how good sunghoon looked in that moment with the sun shining on his face.

"yeah.. of course." jake began to open his door but he was stopped when he felt sunghoons hand on his wrist, stopping him from going out.

jake felt his heart pounding out of his chest at the moment, sunghoon stared at him seriously until jake finally looked him back in his eyes, they stayed like that for a moment which just messed up jakes feelings even more.

jake always imagined something like this happening between them, but it always was sunghoon pulling him back to kiss him...

that obviously wasn't happening here.

sunghoon hummed and gave him a small smile all of a sudden, finally letting go of his wrist, jake let go of the breath he didn't know he was holding.

"sorry.. i wanted to ask out of curiousity, who are you talking to? i mean.. to get over who you like? you mentioned it earlier.. i just figured that since we're friends you could tell me. i don't want you to feel distant around me..-" sunghoon trailed on, making jake smile to himself.

he seemed nervous which didn't make sense for sunghoon but jake still thought it was adorable.

"its fine hoon. I'm talking to heeseung hyung." jake told him confidently but he couldn't NOT notice sunghoons look on his face.
it was weird since he couldn't read it at all.

he looked confused in a way.. or mad? or annoyed? jake had no idea. he's never seen this expression on him.

"oh heeseung? that's nice jake, i know he will treat you well." sunghoon smiled his perfect smile and softly patted jakes head, jake wanted to be uspet hearing those words from sunghoon but instead, he felt glad, he smiled back and nodded. "thanks. ill talk to you later~ drive safe."

sunghoon only nodded as jake finally got out of the car and began walking towards his door.

when he got inside and locked his door, he noticed that his smile hasn't left his face the whole time.
he just couldnt get over the fact that sunghoon was possibly.. jealous..

why else would he make that kind of face after knowing who i'm talking to ?
maybe he just doesn't like heeseung..

no that can't be it.

maybe i'm thinking to much into this..

jake spent the whole day playing video games like he already planned. but he also ordered food and ate dinner by himself.
around 6:00pm he got a text from heeseung.

he suddenly felt bad because he has been sort of avoiding the other the past few days.. it's not that he was trying to, he was just confused. he still is.

oh- what??? uncomfortable!? bruh, you never have lol.  you wouldn't scare me away heeseung don't worry.

oh.. heh i see. but can we maybe meet up? i kind of want to tell you something.

we can take a walk by han river or something?

i can already see where this is heading.
damn heeseung is going to confess to me- before i confess to sunghoon...?

jake smiled playfully down at his phone but quickly snapped out of it as he shook his head, "what the hell jake- you can't get his hopes up.." jake talked to himself, frowning while doing so.

he figured it'd be fine.. jake would just tell him the truth, he wouldn't lie and say that he does like heeseung since he obviously doesn't yet.

it was going to take time if he did want to like heeseung.

jake took a quick shower and got dressed into comfortable clothes, he hummed a song to himself when he remembered what sunghoon told him.

that he had to confess to his crush as well..
if he wanted sunghoon to tell sunoo of course.

ah shit, whyd i have to remember that?.. i'm going to be stressed now. ugh

but that's all jake wanted. maybe if sunoo knew sunghoons feelings.. then jake would finally have a chance.
