"THERE WAS AN INTRUDER," Carlisle tells them.

"We know," says Darcie. "That's why the wolves have been patrolling Bella's house more. Whoever he was, we have eleven days to figure out what's going on."

Already, Riven and Darcie were currently discussing the idea of peace with the Cullen's, but with the way Quinn had been at the bonfire, Darcie's worried about what was to come. Now, more than ever, they needed a strong alliance with all sides.

"You're sure Quinn's prophecy is war?" Jasper questions.

"A Phoenix predicts war," Riven tells them. "My father kept his knowledge of the sacred creature hidden, forbidding anyone from asking him for the truth."

"We don't know a lot," says Darcie. "Cersi tells me that Quinn's training is going well; she's controlling the fire a lot better, but it's a power she's never seen before."

"Quinn hears the flames," Jasper tells them. "She sees things too, but can never remember."

"The Phoenix can't share the truth of what they have seen, they can only warn," Riven explains. "If war is coming, then we need to understand who the enemy is."

"That's numerous possibilities," Jasper confesses.

"The Volturi," says Carlise, face taut with disappointment. "I fear that they have connections to the Unseelie Court."

"It wouldn't surprise me," Riven announces, frowning at the mention of his home. "My father never told me much, but I always knew about his desire to grow in power. The Fae Kingdom will not be enough for him."

"So an alliance with the Volturi would help him rise to power here in the moral world," Darcie continues.

"The Volturi wouldn't form an alliance unless they got something out of it," Jasper tells them.

"I worked with the Volturi for some time and I never saw a Fae among them, but I could be wrong," says Carlisle. "This alliance could have been recent."

"But it can't be the Unseelie Court," Darcie thinks out loud. "If so, then why would an intruder go to Bella's house? If that was the Volturi, then you said Alice would have seen them decide. Wouldn't Alice see a vision about the Unseelie Court?"

"Not necessarily," Jasper explains. "Alice's visions can be blocked by the Fae. I decided to join you with this meeting, so Alice didn't see that."

"That still doesn't explain the intruder at Bella's house," says Darcie. "You said it was a vampire. Could we be overlooking Victoria and jumping straight to the Volturi?"

"It's possible," Carlisle decides. "Alice is watching Victoria and the Volturi closely, so hopefully we'll have more information to work with soon."

"Until then, I suggest everyone trains," Riven suggests. "We now have an alliance with the Quileute tribe, so we will have to inform them of any updates."
