I couldn't believe my eyes when the mailman came to my house to deliver a letter for me that had cursive handwriting and a black and golden envelope.
I rushed back inside my house and opened the letter carefully, wondering what it was. My eyes almost deceived me when I saw it. An nomination for an Oscar. I could have fainted that very minute.
I quickly ran to the phone to contact my older brother Chris to tell him the news. He's big in the acting industry and plays Captain America, I want to follow in his footsteps and one day be as great as him.
I dial his number into my phone and ring him. About 4 rings in he answers.
"Hey sis what's up?" He says in his normal cherry voice
"You are not going to believe what the mailman just brought me"
"What did he bring?" He wonders
"An invitation to the Oscars, Chris I got nominated for an Oscar" I say excitedly as I jump up and down.
"Y/N that's amazing news!! I'm so proud of you. I'll try get home as early as I can and we can celebrate" he tells me
"Thanks Chris" I say as i hang up
Fast Forward a couple weeks later and it's the day of the Oscars. I just got my hair nails and makeup on and I'm about to go put on my dress. I chose a sky blue dress with some silver heals.
I head downstairs to meet Chris as he was taking me (what a gentleman). I hurry down the stairs but make sure I don't fall in the heals. As I walk down I catch his eyes. He looks like he had been crying.
I reach the end and brush his eyes with my thumbs.
"Don't cry on my special day you punk" I tell him.
He wraps his arms around me and we stay like this for a while. This must be a big thing for Chris too as no one in our family has ever been nominated besides Chris.
He walks me outside to where a big fancy limo is. I step in not before giving him a raised eyebrow about the car but he brushed it off.
The car started and we started chatting.
"Are you nervous?" He asks
"Dude, I'm terrified" I tell him with a chuckle.
He laughs before taking my hands and looking at me.
"You have no reason to be nervous, you look stunning, your dress is gorgeous and you've been nominated for an Oscar at 16 years old. Your a star kid"
I smile at him and the driver informs us that we are at the destination. Someone opens the door for us and I step out. Immediately people are shouting and asking for pictures. I laugh as Chris links my arm to take me down the red carpet area.
As we're walking someone catches my eye.
"SCAR!" I shout as I jog toward her.
She spots me and immediately comes over to hug me. Since mom left me and Chris when we were younger, scar has been helping Chris out with me and she has become a mom to me. She has also gotten nominated but for another category.
Her hands arm warm as they touch my back and I feel her shoulder rise and fall as she chuckles.
"You look stunning" she tells me as she releases me.
"Scar you've stolen the carpet, you look flawless" I tell her.
Me Chris and Scar pose for more pictures then we go inside and sit down, meeting up with some of the other cast at a table. The show starts and everyone claps. There is a very comforting feeling inside.
After what feels like an eternity they come to my category which is best rising actress. I grip the edge of my seat as I listen to them call out the contestants.
Chris gives me a arm smile and he holds my hand comfortingly.
"And the Oscar goes too...... Y/N EVANS IN MARVEL AVENGERS ENDGAME!!"
I swear my heart stopped.
I'm stuck in my seat as Chris next to me leaps up and starts shouting. He pulls me up and gives me a massive hug before Scar pushes him away to give me a hug too.
I go up stage to receive my award from Jennifer Lawrence. She hugs me and tells me well done.
Her and Samuel L Jackson move away from the microphone, indicating I get to say a few words. The area is defiantly bigger than I thought it would be. I take a Deep breathe as everyone sits down.
"I-I don't even know where to start! I say as I chuckle. First of all I want to say a huge thank you to the Russo Brother Joe and Anthony, for introducing me into the mcu. Kevin Feige for being an awesome director. My fellow cast mates Scarlett, Robert, Tom, Chris Hemsworth, Jeremy, Mark and of course my brother Chris Evans thank you all so much. I couldn't have done this without you, I love you.
I especially want to say a huge thanks to my brother Chris, who has played a huge role in my life and has made me the person I am today. Chris has been and always will be my number one supporter and it will always be like that according to the guy himself. He is the reason I got into acting and he is the reason I'm here today. Chris I love you thank you for everything. And thank you to everyone who voted for me, I couldn't have done it without you"
I finish my speech as I hear an eruption of applause. I smile and walk down the stairs before running to Chris with open arms. He holds me and I thank him for everything. Everyone congratulations me and the next thing we know it's Scar's category
"And the Oscar goes too..... Scarlett Johannson for Avengers Endgame"
"YES SCAR!!!" I say as I hug her. She holds me in the hug as a silent symbol of thank you and congratulations in one. She hugs everyone and she retrieves her award on stage.
She finishes her speech and we get ready to go home. Everyone was coming to our house to celebrate me and Scar's wins. We had the whole avengers gang plus Anthony, Seb, Tom Holland and Hiddleston. I curl up next to Chris while we watch a movie and my eyes immediately fight against me.
"You can sleep y/n, you earned it" he says as he drapes a blanket over me.
And just like that I fade into a wonderland of dreams
