⚠️This story contains heavy topics such as cancer and depression. I'm basing this off personal experiences and I do not intent to make fun of anything⚠️

Y/N's POV
My mom as been battling cancer for 3 years now, she got it when I was 12. My dad left after he found out. He said he couldn't afford the medical bills and that we'd have to fund for our own.

So all of that work was landed on top of me. At 15 years old taking care of my mom was hard. At the start it would be ok. She would go on walks willingly and step outside for some fresh air. But then her symptoms changed.

She was coughing a lot more and she never wanted to do anything. She was completely drained and I then decided that it was time to move to the hospital. I was able to ring the ambulance to help bring my mom since I can't drive.

Moms been in the hospital for about 3 weeks now and things are not looking good. The doctors told me that she has at least 1 week left to live.

This news broke me but I knew I had to keep working to get money to fund for myself, knowing that I will be left alone after she dies.

I work at Stark Industries and I'm a personal assistant for none other than Tony Stark. I had explained my situation to him and he started helping me a lot. During that process I also got to meet the avengers. They were like family to me.

Fast Forward to the present that and I'm sitting in the living room with the avengers, when I feel my phone buzz and I look down to see that someone's calling me.

"One minute guys" I say as I step out of the room and into the kitchen.

I click the green button to pick up the call.

"Hello?"

"Hi is that Y/N Y/L/N?"

"Yes that's me"

"Hi y/n, your mom isn't doing too well and we have no choice but to remove the life support she's on. She's agreed to it but wants you with her. Do you think you could make it here in 10 minutes?"

My heart stops. If I run I will, traffic is too heavy and I need to be there.

"Yea I'll be there very shortly" I say, crying not to cry.

"See you then Y/N"

The person on the line hangs up and I rush to the door to get my coat and put on my shoes.

"Kid where you going?" I hear Tony ask.

"Not right now Tony"

He doesn't even get to respond before I rush out the door.

I take as much Shortcuts as i can before arriving to the hospital. I walk down to my moms room without being stopped as the receptionist knows who I am very well.

I stop outside her room and take a deep breathe before stepping inside.

She's the worst I've ever seen her. It barley looks like she's breathing.

The doctor shoots me a sympathetic smile before patting my shoulder, signalling to to nurse to leave me and my mom to talk.

I take her hand as i sit by her bed.

"Y/N.....so proud of you.....thank you....love you"

"I love you too mom. You did so well you fought so hard. Be proud of yourself. Your going to heaven now! Where you can be with granny and grandad. I love you"

I'm in tears at the moment. Seeing the person who raised you falling is not a nice sight. She smiles before her machine flatlines. Didn't even have to take her off life support I think to myself.
