Painful Halloween- chapter 12

Back to Amiliea's point of view٫ after Halloween night.

I get up and realize that it's a school day. But I don't want to go to school and I don't want to see anyone.

I ask my mom if I can stay home today. She doesn't know what happened last night٫ she thought I was out having fun. She let it slide for today anyway.

I lay my head back on my pillow٫ hoping to drift off again. I keep thinking about last night though. What happened without me? did they have even more fun without me?

I think about it for at least forty minutes and get more tired every second that passes. Finally٫ I doze off once again.

I wake up without my alarm going off and feeling better after some more sleep. I look at the time and realize I've slept in for 3 hours.

I get up out of bed٫ throw a change of clothes on and head downstairs. I see my mom as I look around the room٫ it feels like the morning but it's mid day.

I get some food٫ a bowl of cereal٫ nothing special. I watch a movie and lounge all over the house. Today is a very boring day.

I look over to the clock and see that school is almost over. I get excited and think about inviting Zuri to hang out.

But again٫ I remember what Alexa said and lay on the floor of my dinning room feeling depressed as I miss her.

I decide to watch another movie to distract me from the thought of Zuri. But when it's almost finished I get a text.

𝑼𝒏𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒏; Hey٫ is this Amiliea?

𝑴𝒆; Who are you?

𝑼𝒏𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒏; Zuri.

𝑴𝒆; Zuri? how did you get my number? also٫ why are you texting me?

𝑼𝒏𝒌𝒏𝒐𝒘𝒏; Not important- are you able to meet up with me at the park right now?

𝑴𝒆; sure.

I felt unsure about this. I thought about it for a second. I do really want to see Zuri.

So I put on my black boots٫ let my mom know that I'm going to the park٫ and headed out the door.

I slowly turned the corner to the park. I squint my eyes to get a better view and see Alexa- I walk over and feel threatened by the way she looks at me.

Did Zuri invite Alexa as well? I feel very awkward as I walk up to her٫ "Alexa٫ Why are you here?"

She looks in my eyes as if she wants to punch me in the face٫ "Hm. How come you didn't show up last night Amiliea? you wasted my time." Alexa seems very and unusually annoyed with me.

"I'm sorry Alexa٫ I was late." I felt cold shivers of sorrow and quilt run up my body from my toes. "Anyway٫ where is Zuri? She texted me."

"WHY DO YOU CARE? I'M NOT A GOOD FRIEND?" Alexa starts yelling and I feel quite scared. "YOU ARE STEALING ZURI AWAY FROM ME. I AM BETTER THAN YOU AND YOU DON'T STAND A CHANCE. SHE LIKES ME."

I feel a bit confused as I realize that Alexa has feelings for Zuri. "I'VE LIKED HER FOR YEARS AMILIEA. YEARS AND YOU THINK YOU CAN TAKE HER AWAY FROM ME?"

I just listen to her in silence٫ than I look over her shoulder to see Zuri in the distance.

"NOTHING TO SAY?" Alexa yells again as she eyes me. I try pointing to Zuri to let Alexa know that she's coming.

But she doesn't understand٫ she get's so irritated that she punches me to the ground. I groan as I lay there feeling dizzy. I've never taken a hit like this before.

I hear Zuri yell٫ I see Alexa turn in shock. But everything is blurry and inaudible. I just pass out.
