One of the things that I was scared to happen is the chemical infecting the water because it will be inevitable and a big problem.

The forest being infected is not even half as bad as the water. Once there's a sea animal get infected, it could lead to a death of thousands.

Not just that, but days have passed and the chemical is going back in infecting the forest as well. The cure we made and sprayed started to lost effectiveness. The trees are getting pale again.

Yet, we still haven't found the hideout of these sky people.

"Give me the wrapper." I asked Neteyam as I finished cleaning the ilu's wound. I healed it in the water just near to where we found them so the animal wouldn't feel stressed out without water.

I wrapped its wounded tail with cloth so it wouldn't be infected with dirt under water. Good thing is the Na'vis are willing to help the poor animal and they offered to take care of it after I healed the wound. I can't help but to think if that infected ilu was the only one or were there any others we didn't know about?

"Was that the chemical you told us that kills your forest?" Ronal asked me after I stood up with stains of blood on my hand that the water didn't wash off.

"Yes. And it affected the water now. It's a big problem, Ronal." I looked at her miserably.

"Will that animal be infected because it was bitten?" Asked Tsireya talking about the Ilu I just healed awhile ago.

"No, it doesn't work like that. The poison from an animal to another will only kill the latter."

She looked at her mate and their children who also joined. "What should we do?" Tonowari.

I looked down. "Honestly, I don't know, chief. We only found a cure for forest plants but not for animals because it needs testing and the forest might have few infected animals but those we can catch alive failed the cures we created."

Tsireya eyes started to look teary and Lo'ak had to console her by hugging her.

"We cannot find cure yet but I have an idea on how it can be stopped spreading. But it needs a lot of effort and time and man labor."

Ronal suddenly had hope in her eyes. "Name it."

"I discovered the proximity of the chemical. It's pretty huge. But I was thinking that you can order your people to put nets or anything all around it to stop animals from getting in and as much as possible get all the animals from here away. I'm sorry, but that's the only thing I can think of for now. " I explained, expecting they would think it was impossible.

The chief nodded at me with desperation. "I will order my people and ask the other villages as well to help. Tell us the proximity and we'll work immediately."

My heart pounded in excitement at how they really care about this. I nodded at them.

We were about to leave when someone came in, running. It was Norm and he just came out from the forest, his face was terrified as he holds his device on his hands.

"I think I know what they're after." he said panting as he approach us.

"What is it?" Jake Sully asked but Norm took his time to breathe in exhaustion.

When he regained his strength, he looked at us again. "I didn't know that it would exist there because the forest was so small but what they're after is the unobtanium planted there."

My eyes widen and I gasped as well as the Omaticayans but it seems that the Metkayina didn't know about it.

"The obtanium is a mineral that the sky people need because it can make many things. It's also very expensive and the main reason why they destroyed the forest years ago." Norm explained to them.

"Wait, what do you mean there's unobtanium there?" Jake Sully asked again.

"There's small amount of unobtanium there just beneath the young Soul Tree. I don't know if that's the reason why the tree grew or it existed because of the tree. But either way, it's their reason. It's also very accessible with how shallow they are from the surface. That mineral is very powerful with earth's weapon and it will surely make destructive result if used."

Everyone looked at each other. "Did you find their hideout?" I asked.

He shook his head. "I can't still find it and it doesn't make sense. With the proximity of the chemical it should just be within it, but my radar couldn't find it."

"But even if you can't find it with your radar, it's impossible that we wouldn't notice it for years of living here." Neteyam meddled.

"You're right. That's the thing I'm also wondering about."

I bit my lip in anger. These sky people would literally do everything to get what they want even if it means invading other world.

"That fucker really needs to confess now." I said and walked out to go to the lab where that stupid scientist is. Neteyam followed me behind.

"Enid, slow down. You might kill him." He said and grabbed my arm,

"I am going to kill him." I said all frustrated.

He shook his head before his eyes met something in lab and it made his eyebrows arch. "Who entered the lab?"

My eyes widen. "What?" I instantly looked at it and saw that the door was left open. "Shit." we ran away as fastly as we can.

Our bodies.

When we arrived, except for the open door, the inside wasn't really destroyed or anything but I'm afraid the oxygen is getting out.

"I'll lead the way, you follow behind." Neteyam said and went inside where I immediately closed the door but weary of my surroundings. Our breathes was loud and heavy as we walk further inside. Neteyam is holding the dagger in his pocket, prepared of what might happen.

Few more steps and we finally saw the glassed room. I was expecting the scientist to be gone by now, but what we saw is more disturbing than that.

The glass has a hole in the middle; mark of a bullet gun, and the human inside in a chair still tied up has wide eyes and fast chest movement. But there's nothing more bothersome than the blood flowing from its stomach.

"Shit!" I yelled and ran to open the door.

"Enid!" Neteyam said and he was rushed to inspect the inside for threat.

The man's eyes were following me as he struggle to relieve the pain from the shot. I untangled all the rope from its body and guide him to fall on the ground so he wouldn't feel the pain too much.

"Who did this to you?" I said frantic. I was putting pressure on the wound but I don't think it will help, and we both know it.

Tears started falling from his eyes. "I'm sorry-- I'm sorry, I should've cooperated to you. I didn't know that they will betray me. I didnt--"

How fucking cruel are they to kill someone whe literally fucking endured all those beatings so they would be kept safe.

"Shh, it's fine. Tell me who did this to you and tell me where they are."

I felt Neteyam entered the room panicking and sat beside us.

There were blood that came out from his mouth and it made him struggle to talk. I could feel him letting go now.

"The one who shot me was..." he gulped trying to put the blood back to his body. "...was... Inez---"

His pupils dilated and all his muscles lost strength then he took his last breathe.

I was left not believing everything that happened and heard in just a second. Everything shattered.

Inez? My mother?
