It's really crazy that while I'm kind of betraying them, they would accept me in the clan, and not just that, give me achievement and ranking. Couple of days ago, they were just mocking me.
In front of all the Metkayina from Awa'atlu village and others, me and Norm were presented, standing after the Olo'eyktan and his Tsahik. On our faces are white paintings that symbolize something I don't really get.
"In the name of the Great Mother, in front of the people of the Metkayina clan, we hereby accept these dreamwalkers as a part of our own..." Tonowari started in the middle of the night as all the people gathered to witness the ceremony made just for us. Everyone was quiet and solemnly sitting on the sand and the torches are the only one that gives us light. "...For showing bravery and sharing their knowledge to save our beloved home, we offer them these arm rings that symbolize their achievement."
Ronal took the two arm rings from the table in front and went near us. She first put the one on Norm and then walked to me. She looked at me and smiled. "Welcome, chosen one." then she put it on my arm.
"They will now be treated as one of us and they can experience all the previledge of being a Na'vi." Tonowari said furthermore then gave us both a smile.
My heart is beating so fast from gratitude and fear and it's worse than feeling fear alone. They are so happy for me, how will I be able to confess?
After the ceremony, all of our friends went to us and congratulated us.
"Enid is one of us now!" Tuk exclaimed as she hug me.
"I'm happy you already forgave me before this." Lo'ak and gave me a pat.
"It will suck seeing you always, monkey." Ao'nung.
I smiled at all their positive and semi negative remarks but my eyes caught Neteyam who was just standing behind looking at me. There's no emotion on his face, just watching. I was about to approach him when Jake and Neytiri blocked my way. They were also smiling at me.
"Congratulations, baby girl." Jake greeted me as his arm was wrapped around his mate's shoulder.
"Congratulations, Enid. This is a gift from the Sully family." she smiled and gave me something wrapped with leaves. I accepted and opened it. "A loincloth with design of our family. We also want to accept you in our little family and treat you as a part of us."
I could feel the tears starting to build in my eyes and I had to sniff to keep it. "Thank you."
They celebrated for us and for the triumph that we've achieved: finding cure for the infected animals. We just finished the antidote but we haven't applied it yet.
Minutes have passed and more than half of the people have already gone home, even Norm. But there's something I've been waiting...
Finally, I felt the familiar and warm touch on my arm and Neteyam's smiling face met mine. "I thought you've forgotten about me." I said, chuckling.
He smiled. "Never. I just want mine to be special."
I rolled my eyes. "Greedy."
"For you? Always." he laughed then pulled me away from the venue.
"Where are we going?"
Neteyam just keep on walking fastly without even looking at me and then called his ikran. "Riding."
I laughed and bit my lip. "I also want to go to the Soul Tree, Neteyam." I asked when the ikran landed. "I haven't made the Tsaheylu to it ever since I've gotten my own avatar."
He connected his queue and rode it before presenting his hand to me. "Sounds even great." I grabbed his hand and sat behind him as he command his ikran to fly.
