Of all the dreams I'm chasing

There's only one I choose

Everything is pointless without you

Pointless – Lewis Capaldi

Aria

I felt like I was about to pass out. For the past few hours everyone had been fussing over me and I was quickly getting overwhelmed. Today was the day I had been dreaming about for a long time, a day I honestly never thought would come. After months of planning it was finally our big day. Luke was quite grumpy when Crystal, Becca and Diana all made me have a slumber party with them last night.

Crystal, Diana, Becca, Aunt Carissa and Liz were all waiting for me to step out from behind the screen. Just a few moments ago, I slipped on my dress and it was time for my first reveal with them. I had almost forgotten how beautiful the dress I bought was. The girls had curled my hair and left it simply down. I wasn't big on the idea of this being super extravagant. The only jewelry that I wore was my engagement ring and the matching necklace that I got Luke for his birthday.

"Come on our Ari, we're dying out here!" Crystal called out to me. In the time that I have known her, we have gotten quite close. Having her traveling with us was so much fun. It was easy to see why Michael had fallen in love with her. She was an absolute pleasure to know. I am also so grateful for all that she did for the boys while I was gone.

Taking one last look at myself in the mirror, I gathered what courage I needed. When I stepped out from behind the screen, I was met with a chorus of gasps. My eyes started to water thanks to them all. There wasn't a dry eye in the room.

Aunt Carissa was quick to wrap me in her arms. "You look absolutely beautiful my dear. Your family would be so proud of you my dear." I had to bite my lips to hold back the tears. She pulled back from me but left her arms on my shoulders. "Speaking of which I have a gift for you."

My eyes followed her across the room as he went and grabbed a velvet box before walking back over to me. She handed me the box with a smile. A pair of beautiful diamond earrings were in the box. "You father bought those for your mom for their wedding day. I have been waiting to give you those. I always hoped that I would be able to give them to you on your special day. I know that they can't be here with you physically, but they are always with you."

"Oh they are so beautiful, thank you." I was quick to slip them into my ears. A weird feeling of contentment and comfort washed over me when they were in. I could almost picture Mom and Stella standing with me, holding my hand.

"You look beautiful my dear," Liz came up behind me. We met eyes through the mirror. Her own eyes were teary. "Oh how I wish your mother was here to see you." Her voice was low. "Now I believe it's time for you to go show my son just how lucky he is to have you."

Luke and I decided that we were going to have a private first look with each other before the ceremony mainly because we were too impatient and hated being separated. The girls wished me luck as I left the room. I made my way over to where Luke's grooms suite was. Ryan was standing outside the door waiting for me. He was kind enough to offer to film our wedding for free as a gift for us. In the months that I have worked with him, I learned so many new things and gained a new lifetime friend.

"You look so beautiful Aria." He pulled me into a light hug, careful not to ruin the hours of work it took to get me looking this good. "I am going to go in there and get into position okay. Give me just a minute and then come on in. He is going to lose his mind when he sees you."
