chapter nine.

Missy swallows hard at the sight of Lix pulling his hair back in a man bun, while his bareback was facing her. The valley down his back really defined, showing off his tone back muscles. Missy shifted in the spot she was standing in, closing the door behind her and cleared her throat. Lix turns around, glancing at the girl for a moment before walking over to his bed in the room, pulling on the new shirt he had on the bed.
"Want a shirt?" He asks, making a gesture to her shirtless torso.
Missy was shocked at the question because this was probably the first time Lix spoke to her without being a smartass. Not complaining, she nods her head slowly—hesitant about his intention. Felix walks over to his closet looking through it before coming out a few seconds later with a white shirt. He tosses it to her and she gives him a quiet thank you.
"Did you have something you wanted to talk about?" Missy asked, pulling on the shirt he gave her, which she had to tie up because it was too long.
Felix gathered up some of the lone clothes on the bed and brought them to his closet before walking back to his bed, sitting on the edge. He eyes Missy for a moment, making her cross her arms.
"That man, Swigs, I think, told me you wanted to see me." she says, trying to be more clear but the man only eyed her making her a bit uncomfortable.
Lix pulls his burner phone out, before making a call, he stands from the bed and makes his way to the couch in the middle of the room, sighing as his back hits the couch. The man holds up his hand, raising one finger—which is a gesture for her to wait.
"Kevin, send me the papers for the next trade with Wade's district," Lix spoke slowly before patting the spot next to him. "Okay."
Missy slowly makes her way to the couch and takes a seat, listening to the muffle voice on the phone before Felix ends the call. He pushes the burner phone in his pocket and leans back, rubbing his forehead.
"Do you know how much money I lost in that fucked up motel," He sighs before sitting up again. "I'm in a tough spot."
"What does that have to do with me?" Missy asks, confused that he's telling her this as if she knows how to help him.
"Well because you decided to go to Sinclair's stupid party, my money was technically stolen from me because they were killed." He comments. "After watching you fight four of my guys and coming out with a few bruised ribs and a few bruises, it really made me want to watch you more."
Missy rolled her eyes and looked at Lix before scooting away from him.
"Please... save me the sweet talk. I'm exhausted."
"Sweet talk?" He grins and tilts his head back, making strong eye contact with Missy, making her turn around ignoring the cute smile he just pulled on his lips. "Can a man confess his interest in a woman?"
