chapter thirty-eight

From the corner of his eyes, Felix could see Sin's eyes widen. They haven't even stopped the car yet before he pulled his seat belt off and hopped out of the car. Of course, Felix knew he would be the one doing the searching, because the way Sinclair's face looks, he wouldn't be in the right state of mind to be doing it. As he gets out of the car, right away he walks to Xavier's body. He could tell from the cruises and cuts on his face, he was either beaten by a weapon or someone with rings on their fingers. Felix made sure to take a few glances at Sinclair as he searched Xavier's body for all the important things, things he didn't want the police to find out about. After taking everything he needed, he walks away from the body and looks around the body for any clues of what happened.
The sound of Sin slamming his fist down on the hood of his car repeatedly while screaming over and over again broke his concentration. He wanted to get this over with quickly, he was sure the police were most likely on their way.
He knows how hard it is. Felix knew how hard it was to lose someone special and have family ripped from you. He knew that feeling all too well. However, seeing that disoriented look cover Sinclair's face wasn't a good sign, but he knew they had to hurry up. Sighing softly, allowing Sinclair ro have a moment alone, Felix looks around Martin's corpse, grabbing anything he had to prevent the Police from getting any info on the syndicate. Of course, Sinclair probably already figured this out, but Felix was sure the police would take Sinclair in for questioning since the two men were his 'bodyguards', but Felix wasn't worried about him. The man knew his way around words, he knew how to talk his way out of things as well, but he was worried about how all this would affect him later on.
As Felix shoves the two phones in his pocket, he walks over to Sin, leaning against the hood of the car, letting him have his moment of silence before speaking. He knows what it feels like to lose someone, but they couldn't stay here, they needed to follow Missy's tracks.
"This was her doings," He pulls his eyes away from Sin and nods towards the damaged motorcycle. "Missy was here and she has your sister. If we track them now, we could perhaps cut them off while we still can."
"Missy didn't kill Xavier, but she probably killed Martin." Sin finally speaks, sighing softly after saying the phrase.
Felix didn't know much, but he was sure that there was a lot more going on besides what they were seeing. However, he was pulled out of his thoughts again as Sinclair sighs softly, turning away from the bloody scene. It took him a few moments before turning around again, making Felix pay attention to him carefully.
"Martin told me himself, he would kill Xavier, our best friend. Just because they both had a thing for my sister." Sinclair finally explains to him, making him shake his head.
"She's way smarter than we assume," He tells Sin, shaking his head as presses his palm into the hood of the car. "First the syndicate and now this. Missy is making it hard for us to trust her."
