Felix's eyes scan over the papers on his desk before he lets out a frustrated groan. It bothers him that he couldn't find anything remotely wrong. Her background was clean. He thought he would find something considering her occupation, but after all the background checks Kevin did on her, nothing came up. Not even her first sloppy murder. Felix only noticed the news and blogs about some old man dying and her being related to him.

"Shit." He murmurs before walking over to Kevin.

The hacker of the black market was still looking at old photos that were found on websites and online yearbooks of Candy at her public schools. There were also pictures of an older man and a picture of when he was younger. This man, Jefferson, on record, was her father. It was clear to him that the girl was hiding her personal life details from him, and it didn't matter—at first it didn't matter. Felix assumed that he could just find whatever the fuck he needed to keep the stubborn girl in check, but nothing was clicking. Making sense.

"You want to know what's fucking creepy," Kevin spins around in his chair, his hair pulled back in a low bun, and pretzel stick hanging from his lips. "Why would an old man adopt a ten-year-old girl?"

Felix looks at the background of the old man, Jefferson Davis. After serving for thirty-five years as a marine, he left the force for classified reasons. When he got back from his post in Germany, he settled in the city, living off his retirement and veteran money. His children, Dante Davis and Malissa Davis were in and out of his life, causing trouble for the old man after finding out he was their biological father.

Kevin whistles, tapping the fancy monitor screen. "Damn his kids have a record too. I wouldn't be surprised if some of these drugs came from us."

"Yeah. His biological kids have records I was expecting Candy to have." Felix leans against the steel table behind him and sighs as he picks up another paper, looking at Missy's documents. Felix noticed the old man didn't put her in the official system until she was ten years old, so it was clear he had her in his care before then.

"Maybe he was lonely?" The man suggests. "His biological kids obviously were looking for the money, so when a little girl was in need, he raised her."

Kevin scoffs before a bitter laugh leaves his lips. "Or maybe he was getting off on little girls."

"Maybe that's why she's so stubborn and... promiscuous?" Kevin looks at his boss for confirmation of the words he used to describe his theory about Missy.

Felix shakes his head. "That's a rather big accusation."

"Well, it's an accusation we need to consider if we're getting anywhere with this sparkling ass file in front of me," Kevin complained as he threw the bag pretzel on his monitor desk and leaned back in his seat. "The girl has not one bad record. It's almost hard to believe she killed that many people without getting caught once. She's a scary woman."
