chapter thirty-nine
▂
Sinclair takes a deep as he looks around, seeing two cars in the driveway of his mansion. It was unusual since he knew his cousin was inside waiting for him, but it was unusual for them to be driving his cars.
"This looks like a set up," Felix comments, puffing the vape smoke from his lips. "Do you have your gun?"
"Always." Sinclair says, opening the glove department in his car, pulling out the .48 and tucking in his blazer for the time being. "I have a spare in the back if you need it, you know just in case."
"Don't worry about it," Felix lift his hoodie up and shows him the gun tuck away in the waist of his sweats. "Just go before people start to get suspicious."
The worry hidden in Felix's voice made Sinclair grin ear to ear. It's not everyday that he sees Felix genuinely worried about him. Perhaps it's because they made up, and everything is falling back to normal, for the most part.
"Don't worry about me, Felix. Just call me when you find my sister and Missy." He tells Felix, before taking another deep breath and stepping out of the car. He slams the door closed and fixes his blazer before walking away from the car.
The atmosphere changed the closer he got to the door of his own home. If he had time, he would've looked around but instead he stood there, counting to three before sighing again. Sin nods for the two guards in the front to open the door. Of course, they didn't move. The only two people who didn't care about Matteo's presence were Xavier and Martin, and those two ended up killing each other. Everyone else, for the most part, didn't want to piss off the guy that even Sin himself was afraid of. However, that's going to change. After having that serious conversation with Felix, he knew he needed to change quickly, or he would just get himself killed.
"Open the Goddamn door." Sin warns, watching the men look at each other before swallowing. "Now!"
They nod at each other before opening the door for him, he is honestly more pissed off now. "Next time you decide to not follow my orders, I'll make sure to cut your ears off since you aren't using them."
"Yes, sir." One of them said.
The other cleared his throat. "Sorry, sir."
Sin walks inside, and the sound of laughter and glass clinking together could be heard. He couldn't believe they were just, causal chilling in his home, after making a threat like that on the phone. He wasn't in the mood for Matteo bullshit. As he follows the sound of laughter and chatter, it lead him to the living area. Pretty big, white couches, something that Christal wanted, but he didn't care, as long as it made her stop talking about it. When he step pass the threshold, the sounds stopped and everyone there sat quietly sipping their drinks from his glass cups.
"Ah, look who finally decided to show up." Matteo's left-hand man calls out, making Sin shoot him a glare but because he was already annoyed and irritated, he's sure it was covered by a calm expression, so he would display too much of his emotions. He mustn't lose his temper, not right now. Not while half of his father's family is in his home at the moment.
