Edward left Bella pregnant

Chapter 50

Edward's POV:

It wasn't long til we made it to Italy and into the cold tunnels that lead to the house of the Volturi and as we got closer Demetri, Felix even Jane seemed to urge us on faster and as we got closer I would hear the thoughts of the vampires living inside and all of their thoughts rushing through my head 'She's so weak' 'She's dying' 'those poor children she's going to leave behind' and it went on like that until I let my thoughts rest on a mind I knew but not very well. I was a young man's thoughts as he watched a female vampire who was no more then skin and bones cook her movement seemed a little stiff but only just, she more then likely hasn't even noticed herself. I felt like I knew this woman but she looked so unrecognizable "Mother I can cook if you wish." The young man said. "No, EJ. I am your mother and will cook for you." She said as she looked at him and gave him a motherly smile as she said "I may be sick but I will still provide for my children." And when I got a full view of her face I stopped in my tracks stunned as I realized who was so deathly sick. "Bella." I whispered without realizing it and started to run for her when Felix threw out his arm and caught me. "She doesn't know you're her doctors and the masters would like to prepare her before you see her." He said gruffly when I looked at him I could see he actually felt sorry for me and wished he could let me go. "But I love her." I said simply and Felix simply shook his head and with that I slowed my pace to my families pace of what a jog is for us.

As we walked I felt my families eyes on me as their thoughts swam into my head wondering what it was about Bella that I had seen. "You'll see soon enough I suppose." I said simply as we walked through heavy golden double doors and into the house of the Volturi were we were greeted by a young human. As we walked I took a deep breath and found that the smell of bacon, eggs, and pancakes were in the air a long with the intoxicating smell of Bella and instantly I started to follow her scent even though Felix and Demetri both grabbed my arms and twisted them behind my back still my body tried to follow her scent. " I have to see her." I said as my eyes started to become unfocused and with a sigh Felix looked at Demetri and said, "I've seen vampires that have been away from their mates shorter times then them, sometimes they can stay away but when they get like this, they won't stop until they at the very least see their mate." Demetri sighed "I suppose it would be okay to just let him look." He said before turning to me, "But only look, if she sees you by accident that's fine but other wise don't show yourself, and if she does see you and ask you to leave you must rejoin your family. Understand?" He asked gruffly as I nodded my head as I pulled harder until finely I felt them release me and I let my body follow the scent that was so much like when she was human, but for the fact that now I didn't have any craving for her blood.
