at last, it was new year's eve. y/n was excited for the new year. she loved getting together with the umbrella academy and celebrating together. aidan on the other hand was a nervous wreck.

every year, aidan told himself that he was gonna kiss y/n when it was officially the new year. but he always chickened out. this year though, he was gonna do it. nothing was going to stop him.

"aidan, come on!" he ran into the living room of emmy's house right on time as everyone starting counting down.

"10, 9, 8.." aidan slowly snuck beside y/n so he couldn't use the excuse: "i wasn't near her" to himself.

"2," he took a deep breath and reached a hand out to turn y/n's head to face him.

"1!" he leaned in and kissed her, soft and sweet, full of love.

she kissed back happily, still surprised by his actions.

after a few seconds, and emmy sneaking a few pictures of course, aidan pulled away for air.

"happy new year, y/n,"

"happy new year, aidan,"

this was supposed to come out at the beginning of the new year but i kept forgetting about it
