AN: here is part 1 of the evening.

"We could have done this another day." Stevie said, following Lindsey into the kitchen, which was surprisingly well equipped for a bachelor.

"It's fine." Lindsey waved it off. "The worst part is over." He smiled a little. "Besides, I would have felt worse if I'd stayed in bed, rolling around in my own filth."

"Well, I hope you took a shower before preparing my dinner." Stevie joked to ease the tension if only a little. "It smells really good in here."

"I'm not finished yet, though." Lindsey apologized. "Why don't you take a seat? Can I get you anything? I have-"

"You can relax for starters." Stevie pulled out a chair at the table.

"Right, I'm just a little, you know..." He breathed out heavily. "I, uh, I'm just gonna continue whatever I was doing before you rang the bell, okay?"

"Yes, please." Stevie nodded, smiling at him.

They were silent for a moment. Stevie watched as Lindsey moved around the kitchen and she suddenly thought about how attractive he looked making her dinner. He had gorgeous curly hair, it used to be longer, when they first met. He wasn't too muscular, but he was fit, he took care of himself and it showed. She couldn't tear her eyes away from him and he had to feel her staring, he kept glancing at her over his shoulder.

Lindsey cleared his throat. "So..."

"So." Stevie echoed, shifting in her seat to sit up straight.

"On a scale of 1 to 10, how uncomfortable are you right now?" Lindsey asked and Stevie chuckled lightly.

"I'm doing okay." She shrugged weakly then dove right into it. "Why now? If you've felt this way for such a long time, why admit it now?"

"I was out with a friend last night." Lindsey started. "I couldn't shut up about you the whole night. I think, I remember asking him for advice and I guess, he got tired of listening to me. He asked if I was planning on pretending and staying miserable for the rest of my life. I told him that you were with your ex, while I was drinking my pain away. He said that the longer I keep my mouth shut, the sooner you and Tom are going to get back together."

"Have I told you that that's where things between him and me are going?" Stevie asked, when Lindsey paused.

"It's not about you telling me that, it's..." He shrugged, grabbing the kitchen towel to wipe his hands off, he turned to face her. "It's the possibility of that happening."

"You're trying to stop that from happening?" Stevie cocked her head to one side, her eyebrows creased.

"No." Lindsey shook his head. "I don't expect anything from you. In an ideal world-" He stopped himself. "I just had to. It drove me to finally open up to you. I don't want to lose you, but I couldn't keep it inside any longer either. I have no idea what's going through your mind, I don't know if you feel anything for me, but it's... it's out there, I can't take it back and I don't regret it. Saying it out loud, telling you that I'm in love with you is possible the hardest thing I've ever done, but I don't regret doing it." He repeated. "Say something, please." He asked, when she remained quiet.

Instead of speaking up, Stevie slowly got up from her seat. Lindsey watched her as she approached him, she got much closer than he thought she would. "Can I do something selfish?" And it was, considering the fact that she knew, how he felt about her.

"What do you mean?" Lindsey frowned.

"I just..." Stevie brought her hands up and cradled his face. "If you push me away again, I'm going to kill you."

"Wha-"

That was all Lindsey managed to get out before Stevie rose to stand on her tiptoes and leaned in for a kiss. He couldn't believe what was happening, his lips were unresponsive for a short moment until he realized that she was not about to back away. His arm as if in slow motion wrapped around her waist and he pulled her in closer. She opened her mouth a little more and so did his, his heart was beating out of his chest. Somewhat shy, her tongue brushed over his and he lifted his other arm up, his fingers slipped into her hair and she moaned into his mouth. He'd fantasized about this exact moment for years, but his imagination didn't come close to how he currently felt.

The last thing Lindsey wanted to do was to stop, but if he didn't, he was going to seriously embarrass himself soon. There was no way that she wouldn't feel him getting hard against her belly. As if she could read his mind, Stevie gradually slowed them down until she drew back completely, then planted a couple more light kisses on his lips.

"I, uh... I'm..." Lindsey didn't know what to say. Why did she do that? Was this some kind of a messed up experiment?

A smile spread across Stevie's face and Lindsey instantly relaxed. "I don't regret doing that." She said.
