Saturday mornings were always the same and Stevie had no intention of changing things up. She woke up whenever she wanted, she made herself a cup of coffee and drank it in bed, while checking her social media. Once she was fully awake, it was time for breakfast and she had it in bed too. Tom used to complain about her wasting the day away, but what was the point of getting up at sunrise on weekends, especially if she didn't have any plans?

Today was no different. After her usual morning, Stevie stripped the bed and threw the sheets into the laundry basket, leaving it for later. She cleaned up the kitchen first after making breakfast, then went to change out of her nightgown to go get some groceries. Gabrielle called, while she was out, but Stevie made sure to let her friend know that she was absolutely not in the mood to go out.

Back in the apartment, Stevie put the grocery bag in the kitchen and went to look for a vase for flowers she'd bought herself. She did her laundry, which she had been putting off for as long as possible. Lunch time came and she turned on the TV, while eating her salad. Then her phone screen lit up.

'You, me, a bottle of wine and a movie?'

Stevie couldn't fight back the wide grin that spread on her face. They'd promised themselves that whatever was going on between them was just friendly. Then why the butterflies in her stomach?

'We're ordering in, I'm not cooking.'

Stevie texted back. No more than two minutes passed by, when she received a reply. Tom said, he'd be at her place at around 7pm.

Her unfinished salad forgotten, Stevie took it back to the kitchen and dumped whatever was left on the plate in the bin. She was suddenly too nervous to eat. Why was she so nervous, though? A romantic night at home wasn't going to end with just a kiss, maybe that was why. And if they kept doing things like that, she knew, they would eventually end up back together. Was the latter the real reason? There was no denying that she hadn't completely gotten over Tom yet, but did she want to give their relationship another chance? It had already ended once before, she couldn't be certain that their fate would be different this time.

After a very long shower, during which, she made sure that she was ready in case they were to migrate from the living room into the bedroom, Stevie came out of the bathroom and first thing she did, she checked her phone to see if Tom had texted her again. She did find a message, however, it wasn't from him.

'Hey, I was wondering if you were up to anything tonight? If you're free, maybe you'd like to come over? I've got everything ready for tacos and you love those :) Anyway, let me know.'

Stevie had to sit down. No, she wasn't free, she had already made plans with Tom, but... but Lindsey... They were supposed to be moving on from that stupid night weeks ago. If she told him no, she was afraid that he would take it the wrong way, that she didn't want to spend time with him, that she lied and wasn't actually over the kiss that didn't happen.

For about half an hour, Stevie went back from her conversation with Tom to Lindsey and back again. She wanted to see them both, but that wasn't really a possibility. Taking a deep breath, she finally made her mind up and typed two text messages. One said that she was looking forward to tonight and the other unfortunately disappointed its receiver.
