JAKE & SAYA ──────────── ' "friends", my ass '
— JAKE DIDN'T WEAR BRACELETS. In fact, he's a hundred percent sure that he's never had something other than a watch wrapped around his wrist.
But the bracelet now secured around his arm made him want to start wearing the specific type of accessory far more often. The chain hung around the bottom of his hand,— not clipped tight enough to hug his wrist— feeling like it was going to fall off but never slipping further then his thenar. He wondered, staring at the silver jewelry so intently that his eyes started to cross, how the bracelet never fell off of Saya's much smaller hand, considering how much larger his was when the girl had compared their hands the other week.
Jake didn't really know how bracelets worked, though— maybe it was magic.
"What do you got there?"
Jake tore his attention away from the bracelet for the first time in a good five minutes, now looking at his brother. The older boy had just gotten out of the shower, evident by the wet hair he was still drying off.
"A friendship bracelet," Jake honestly answered, holding his decorated wrist up so his brother could get a better look. He leaned in, inspecting the jewelry before giving a look of approval to his younger sibling.
"It's nice, real sterling silver too," He said, tilting the "925" stamp towards Jake to prove his statement. "I don't suppose this 'friendship' bracelet was from the girl you were talking about the other day?"
Jake scrunched his eyebrows together, already not liking where his brother was leading the conversation. The certainty and obsession he had with Jake's relationship to Saya was getting concerning.
"So what if it is?"
His brother shrugged, shoving his hands into the pockets of his black sweatpants, "For someone who says he's so smart, you're actually kind of a dumbass."
"What's that supposed to mean?"
Jake's brother raised his hands, not wanting to dig himself a bigger hole; He knew starting this conversation again would only lead to Jake denying his accusations a thousand times, and the older boy had much more important ways to spend his evening.
"Nothing, enjoy your bracelet." He shoved Jake's head to the side as he made his exit, slinging his towel over his shoulder. He took one last glance at Jake before going back into his own room, seeing his younger brother fiddling with the bracelet once again: a fulfilled smile was illuminating his tired face. As he walked down the hall, the image of Jake still vivid is his mind, the oldest Sim son scoffed so loudly that the family dog, Layla, almost fell down the stairs. "'Friends', my ass."
