CHAPTER THREE REPRISE
SAYA
────────────
' don't forget to blink '— SAYA loved Haeun, but she did not love her sleeping habits. Typically, Saya was able to withstand her roommate's snoring, but at least once a week she would end up packing a bag and knocking on someone else's dorm at one in the morning.
That dorm was usually Jay and Sunghoon's.
Saya hadn't slept all week. At first, it was because of Jake. Of course it was. All of her problems somehow trailed back to him. Okay, maybe that's an exaggeration, but Saya felt very strongly about it.
For three nights, the sun disappearing became a queue for Saya to lose her sanity. For hours, all her mind could do was think of him. Sleep became a privilege that she had lost her rights to.
Then, when Saya had finally made it past dawn without a single thought of Jake infesting her poor mind, Haeun had gone to sleep before her. Way before. At eight in the evening. Even without the man plaguing her mind, finding peace in that bedroom was a lost cause.
So, Saya grabbed her school bag and groggily dragged her feet to Sunghoon and Jay's place.
Saya didn't even remember knocking on their door. One moment she was stumbling out of her room and then next she was throwing her backpack down beside their shoes.
"You look like shit." Was the first thing Sunghoon said when Saya walked in.
"Thanks for the reminder," She mumbled. Sunghoon sat on the couch, looking as if he were watching a movie despite the TV being off. Saya wasn't even sure the thing worked. She threw herself down beside him. "You have a booger in your eye."
That made his coyness falter. As Sunghoon frantically rubbed his tear-ducts free of any accumulated material, Jay plopped down next to him.
Sunghoon was hunched over, practically scratching his face off to make sure he didn't have any imperfections residing on his precious skin, so Jay and Saya had a nice view of each other over the maniac's back.
The way Jay was looking at her, as if she was something under a microscope to be examined, would have made her throw a brick at him and run as far away as possible had it not been Jay doing the inspection. After a minute of feeling like a patient under Jay's scrutiny, he spoke up.
"Are you alright?"
Saya's eyebrows immediately bunched together. "Of course. Why wouldn't I be?"
Sunghoon sat back up. "Because you've looked like you got spit out of a tornado for a week now."
Saya smacked his shoulder. "I'm fine, really."
It seemed like Jay wanted to say more, but he didn't.
Saya stood up, grabbing her bag as she did so. "I'll go put my stuff in the spare room. Movie after?"
