— SAYA had heard Jay when he told her that he was hosting a party, but she didn't register that he was actually having a party.

She and Haeun stood on the sidewalk in front of the house— calling it a house was misguiding, though, seeing as this estate was somehow bigger than Tate Mitchell's, the infamous rich boy/party thrower.

Haeun and Saya had both decided to fulfill the roles of stereotypical party girls as they adorned their skimpy outfits, blending right in with the people that were floating around the place. Even without the dress code, it was fairly hot that evening, and the lack of clothing was very much appreciated.

With Haeun on her arm, Saya finally walked towards the party.

She hadn't dipped her feet into the pool of Korean frats or extravaganzas yet, but walking through Jay's house, Saya was certain this would not be the last one she attended.

The music was so loud that she didn't even know what song was playing. Every type of alcohol was displayed on the makeshift bar in the kitchen, and not a single hand was empty— not even hers, Haeun had thrusted a cup into her hand the second she stepped through the threshold of the kitchen.

None of their other friends were in sight. Saya caught a glimpse of two girls from her physics class, Yeji and Lia, but no one she knew well enough to speak to. After a of couple drinks, knowing the person wouldn't really matter to her, though. So, Saya filled her cup and took a swig.

It wasn't like Saya to stay away from the crowd at parties, but the sheer amount of people and the blinding LED lights stopped her from fulling jumping in.

"Haeun, Saya!" It was Heeseung, a beer in his hand and a tipsy smile on his lips. "Glad you could make it! Jay wasn't sure you would come!"

He gave Haeun a side-hug and Saya a drawn out wave before skipping off, immediately being pulled into some circle of other drunk boys. They looked like the hockey team, but Saya wasn't sure.

"How is he more flirty when he's sober?" Saya thought out loud, watching Heeseung walk around like a little kid in LegoLand. When she'd met him for the first time, he could barely say one thing to her that wasn't a tease or a comment alluding to something past friendship— now, he was treating her like anyone else. Heeseung intrigued her, and she mentally thanked Jay for having such odd friends.

Haeun either didn't hear Saya or didn't care enough to answer. Instead, she kept raking her eyes over the crowd before leaning into Saya's ear. "I'm gonna go find Taehyun, will you be alright on your own? I can ask Seung to stay with you, if you'd like?"

Saya shook her head, giving Haeun a small nudge forward. "I'll be fine, go get your man. And don't put your drink down!"

"Yes, mother," Haeun laughed before skipping off to God knows where. Her body disappeared into the mosh pit of other young adults within seconds, and Saya was left to her own devices.
