—SAYA regretted a lot of things in her life. The first thing she ever regretted was cutting her own hair in kindergarten with some safety scissors (that were not very keen on the 'safety' part), immediately feeling like bursting into tears when she saw the short black strands falling through her fingers.

The second thing she had ever regretted was taking ballet classes. Her toes came home bleeding every night and the violating words from her teacher seemed to follow her every where she went. The only positive thing she got out of those lessons were some absurdly strong calves and a mentality no bullet could crack (unless that bullet was Jake, apparently).

Regrets flooded in from then on. It seemed like every choice she made would end in the same question: was this the right decision?

Coming out to Jay's summer home was not one of those regrets.

Sunoo and Jungwon had returned from the beach just before dinner, their hair sticking to their foreheads but the rest of their bodies dry.

They smelled of salt and half-present water, the sweet grins on their faces contrasting the earthy scent of the beach they'd brought back with them.

Sunoo found a spot next to Heeseung while Jungwon scooted next to Saya, shaking his head to sprinkle some of the sea onto her untouched skin.

"Dinner is served!"

The group erupted into a cacophony of cheers as Jay started placing dishes onto the table. People reached for anything they could, swatting away other hands that got too close to what they were after.

The food was gone faster than anyone would have liked.

Once every dish was in the sink and any crumbs had been wiped off the dining table, Jungwon rushed to the door again to get back into the water.

The second he noticed where he was headed, Heeseung sprung up from his seat and before Jungwon had even reached the doormat, Heeseung had tackled the boy to the floor.

Jungwon let out a low, cut up groan as his body fell on top of Heeseung's— at least he was kind enough to break his fall.

"You came back in, now you can't go back out," Heeseung argued as he held onto the boy. Saya's laugh blended with Sunoo's as Jungwon accepted defeat in his arms. "Now, someone go grab Monopoly."

Jake wasted no time sprinting up the stairs to retrieve the board game from Heeseung's room. He came back barely 20 seconds later, almost falling down the steps as he skipped every other one.
