Gerard's POV:

"Did you see the mayors daughter? She's pretty!" Frank exclaims. "You've seen her once, and you were spying on her through the window, who does that?" We walk through the halls to get to dinner. "She could be the one, you never know!" Frank throws his hands in the air. "The town would freak out if I tried to pursue his daughter, she'd probably be scared anyway and get us killed," I say while sitting at our table.

"You've only ever had girlfriends, it's time to find a wife. You've been single and alone for at least 100 years," Ray says. "Yeah, because they all die. What's the point if none of them are willing to become one of us?" I sigh growing frustrated. The rest of night was rather quiet, after the meal was over I go out to the courtyard to get some air and look at the moon.

I heard a snap and look down at my foot, I pick up a pencil. Why is this here? I bring it to Mikey, "Look what I found," I show him the broken pencil. "A pencil. What about it?" he replies nonchalantly. "It was in the courtyard! It shouldn't be there! Hold it," I shove the pencil in his hands.

When Mikey held things he could see the history associated with that object. "Vince at the art shop, then Mayors daughter, she uses it draw. She's pretty good," he says. "Drawing what? Be more specific, " I demand.

"The castle, other things," the castle? Was she spying on us? What was happening?  "Give it, I have a job for the others."

Victoria's POV:

It had been two days since I was grounded. I was allowed to leave the room but I didn't want to, I couldn't stand to look at him or my sister. I spent my time reading or drawing which felt therapeutic to my soul. I stared out the window looking at the castle  trying to see if I can see anything through the windows.

I closed my eyes and put my hands  together, "God, if you're listening please let me see the  vampire. I promise I won't tell anyone. Amen." While I'm  grounded I put my desk in front of my window so I can constantly look at the grandiose building. I sat there and looked through the books, I feel like I've read these books hundreds of times. I hope one day I'm able to see him fly from the castle. That'd be more than enough evidence for me.

I rested my head on my hand and my eyes started to drift slowly, a big shadow passed the window. It freaked me out and made my heart race. I tried to open the window but forgot that it was nailed shut. "Shit..God  you better not play with me!" I whisper  to myself.

I sigh and sat back down on the chair. I wrote down what just happened and I looked back up to see a figure going into a window at the very top. Then another, then two more. My mouth flew open. "I saw them!" I yell out in excitement.

That excitement  soon came to an end when  my door swung open, "Why are you yelling this late at night hun?" My mother asked. "Nothing, don't worry about it," I smile trying to telepathically tell her to get out. She walked towards my bed and sat down, well that didn't work. "Sit down with me, please?" She asks sweetly. I do as I was told.

"Why did you go out?" she asks. "To see the castle," I answer simply. "You know that's dangerous, right? He could get you," I assume she's talking about the vampire. I was always told as a child that If you tried to enter his castle you'd be killed. But as a child I thought I was different and could be his friend.

"Mom, that isn't going to happen," she gives me a look. "You don't know that Vic. Why are you so   obsessed with them?" There were plenty of reasons why I was obsessed with them. The fact they get eternal life, look young forever, they rule over people so the town fears them, they can go anywhere they want, the romance, etc. "I just think they're cool. Living in a castle seems pretty cool,"  I smile.

"Well, I'll let you be. Get some sleep please,"  she pats me on the back and goes out. I exhale deeply and get under the covers. I laid down in bed facing the window, I closed my eyes and drifted off to sleep.

When I woke up I felt a breeze through my room. I wrapped a blanket around myself and saw that my window was wide open and nails were on the ground. Father is going to kill me if he saw this, he'd try to blame it on me. I examined the window to see if I could see any reason as to why it busted open. I saw a few claw marks on the wood but I couldn't remember if they had always been there, odd.  I also noticed I had papers missing.

I peeked  my head out of the door and listened for any noise. I didn't hear anything so I stepped out and went downstairs to get some tools. Once I entered the kitchen I saw a note on the table,

Vic

We're out in town for the day, we are  trusting you to behave and not leave the house while we're gone. We have people around watching the house to make sure you don't leave.

My face lit up. I knew exactly what I was going to do, leave. I first brought tools upstairs and sat them on my desk, secondly I got ready and put on an outfit that might help me blend in. I put my  hair in a long braid and grab my bag with my sketchbook, matches, pencils, and a small knife to defend myself if I need to. I also grabbed a watch to keep track of time.

I am ready.
