Gerard's POV:
When Victoria left the castle I hadn't seen a human being that happy in my life. I lurked in the shadows as she walked through the castle. It was interesting to see her so intrigued by the architecture and walk around like she owned the place. Before she left I thought I'd let her meet Mikey, maybe I should give her a try.
It was funny watching them two interact with one another. She was brave, I'll admit that. After she left I sat them down to talk about what we should do with her. "Clean off the other end of the table. Also clean up a bedroom for her. Frank, you watch her every move and report back."
Frank returned late into the night, worried, which wasn't normal for him. "She left the house. I don't think she plans on going back," I turn towards him. "Excuse me? Are you gonna tell me what happened?" I crossed my arms and go see what the others have completed.
"She got into a fight with her parents, dad slapped her, packed her shit and left. Not sure where though," he said. Ray overheard, "I'll look for her," he offered. "Are you sure?" he nods and excuses himself out the window.
The panic started to settle in, this wasn't my original plan at all. My plan was to simply carry her through the window but now she's missing.
Victoria's POV:
When I woke up I was surrounded by comfort, but it was cold. I sat up rubbing my tired eyes to examine my surroundings. "Where the fuck am I?" I whisper to myself as I get out of bed. The bed was plush and rich with pillows and blankets. I grabbed one of them covering myself while walking to the door.
I opened the door to see a very familiar hallway. "Oh shit," I cover my mouth with shock. I close the door quietly and turn back around to meet faces with a man. The short one to be exact, scared the living hell out of me. "Glad to see you awake," he smirks and brushes my cheek with his hand.
"When did I get here?" I questioned wrapping the blanket tighter around me. "Last night, duh. Get changed and head to the dining room, I'm sure you already know how to get there," he walked out and I immediately locked the door.
I changed into a floor length dress that was very flowy and reminded me of a princess. Kept my hair down and put on slippers to keep my feet warm. Before I left the room I quickly grabbed a white cardigan my mom knitted for me.
I made my way to the dining room and took a peek out the window to see the home I once lived in. The feeling was bittersweet, I just sighed and opened the door. There was a large echo and I was the only person there. It was quite dark and the only light was the candles on the table.
I sat at the end of the table in silence. "Hello?" I call out. About 20 seconds passed and the doors opened. It freaked me out a bit but the four men sat in their chairs and shot me looks. "Sooo..." is all I could say. I had no idea what to expect.
5 minutes had passed and the doors opened again. The man I had always dreamed of meeting, the man I was told stories about, the man I had studied for years, walks into the room. My mouth gaped open as my eyes followed him to the big chair. Words couldn't even form in my mouth from how shocked I was.
His hair slicked back, his skin pale, long pointed nails and a beautiful cape. He was handsome I can't lie. "Thank you for joining us Miss Blackwood," his voice was smooth like velvet. "My..pleasure...Mr. Dracula?" I wasn't sure what to call him.
He let out a laugh, "Please, just call me Gerard or Mr. Way if you wanna be formal." All I knew him by was Drac or Dracula. It felt strange knowing his real name but I like it.
"Just call me-"
"Vic."
We locked eyes and he smirked but quickly averted his attention to the maids by the door. I saw him whisper something in one's ear and all she did was nod in response. He then shot his attention back to me, I've never felt so nervous in my entire life.
"Your heart is beating really fast," the short one says reaching his hand to touch my chest. "Frank. Stop, that's impolite," the one with glasses said with a strict tone. "Sorry," glasses boy says on behalf of Frank while Frank clears his throat of embarrassment. "So when can I start asking questions?" I ask. Because in all honesty that's what I wanted to do. Research.
I don't plan on staying here forever, just until I can get my own place away from here. I wanted to put out my own books about the vampires and work with them to give accurate information.
"Well, ask away," Mr. Way says staring intently. The others didn't care too much to look at me. "Um...do you prefer live blood or bagged blood? Everything I read told me you viciously kidnap people and feed from them, is it true?" they all chuckled and made me feel silly for asking that. "Is that...a stupid question?" I rub my hands up and down my thighs to help self-soothe.
Mr. Way shook his head, "There's no such thing as a stupid question here honey. Whatever source you got that from we're very wrong. And either suffices for us." I felt my stomach do flips inside me when he called me honey. Shortly after maids bring in carts, they come to me first and sit down a very well balanced meal.
"This looks great," I say licking my lips ready to dig in. The maids then set down bowls in front of them. Before I could even take my first bite they're gulping down blood. I'm surprised nothing was spilled but drops did go down their chins. Mr. Way did it rather more slowly and with cautiousness. I looked down at my food and took a bite of steak first.
"You like it? I hope it's cooked to your taste," Mr. Way said. "You guys are excused," he gestured to the four others.
