Victorias POV:
I locked my door first and jumped out the window. I didn't see anyone near and made it to the opening that I used last time I went. I made it to the maze hedge and I completely forgot how to get through it so it took a few tries to get to the front.
I went to the back and used the stairs I used last time. The sun was blaring hot on me so my goal was to get inside, can't get burnt!
Gerard's POV:
I stood at my bedroom window looking out the window into Victoria's. I had Frank go to her house and see if he could find anything worthy of sharing. To my surprise he told me the window was nailed shut so he had to really pry on it to get it open.
He brought back notes detailing things she's seen and notes from books. He brought back one of the books which detailed the history of vampires and encounters. Quite laughable honestly with how people describe us.
A knock on the door shakes me out of my daze. "Gerard, she's in the courtyard," Ray says worriedly. My brows furrow in confusion, "The courtyard? Shit. You know what to do," I tell him and make my way to a window to see her myself. She wore black boots with a black dress that went to her knees.
I'll keep an eye on her.
Victoria's POV:
I went up the nearest staircase. As I approached a door I first looked through the window that sat to the left. I saw a shadow cross a wall and I stood back immediately. I was hesitant on going in but I had to.
I opened the squeaky door and I closed it behind me. I gulped and admired the room, I assume it was a conversation area, decorated in a dark red velvet, candles lined walls and sat on tables. I grabbed a candle stick and lit it with the matches I had and walked around. Found the dining area, it was platted but no silverware. The big chair was pulled out but the rest wasn't.
I sat at the opposite end of the table and wiped the dust that had settled, it seemed like no one sat on this side. I got out my drawing stuff and started sketching what I had saw so far. I tried to keep my composure but my childhood self was freaking out.
While I drew I heard creeks behind me, I snapped my head to see no one around but I called out, "Hello? Is anyone here? If so, I just wanna talk!" I wanted to seem friendly to them. Can't believe I'm trying to befriend a vampire.
I heard a few footsteps outside of the doors but I ignored it and told myself it's just from how old the building is. I finished my drawing and explored the rest of the first floor which didn't have much until I stumbled upon a library that took up at least two stories. I looked out the window and noticed I was now on the other side of the castle. It'll be super easy to get lost here.
I looked around the library taking in the beautiful scenery. Not even my father could afford something like this and he was a rich rich man. The books were dusty and the ladders to climb the shelves were also dusty. I tried moving one but when I did dust erupted all over and made me have a coughing fit. Bad idea. Note to self: stop touching shit.
There was a space with a fireplace, couches and chairs accompanied with an expensive looking coffee table. I examined the area and it looked like the area was frequented. Someone definitely lives here. The table had round coffee stains. I sat on the couch and took out the sketchbook once again. I did my thing and even grabbed a book from the shelf. I didn't bother to look at what it was though, I just needed proof I was there.
As I was leaving I heard what sounded like one of the ladders moving. It made my heart race but I persisted.
I found myself going up some stairs and was welcomed into a big room with art on the walls. My mouth dropped opened and I gasped at what I saw. I walked closer to it and even touched it with my finger, it was a painting of what I can only think to be Dracula. He was handsome, I only ever drew what the books described and it wasn't even close to the painting.
Surrounding the painting were very similar ones. They wore red button up shirts, it was rather plain compared to what HE wore. I had to be careful because marble statues and marble busts were scattered all over the room. I went down a hallway and opened the first door I saw, it was beautifully decorated as it had similar style to the rest of the place. It was too small to be the master bedroom though.
I went through several others, a few of them hadn't seem touched in forever but had junk scattered throughout. I was met with a grand staircase, the wood was dark and had a black carpet runner leading up. I took a deep breath and went up the stairs, it was spiraled but not dizzying. When I got to the top there was a balcony that looked down the staircase and a big wooden door.
My heart was beating out of my chest as I put my hand on the knob. I turned it but it wouldn't open. I tried again. I stood there for a moment debating on if I should keep trying my luck with the mysterious door. "If you let me I promise not to mess anything up!" I yell into the air hoping maybe the ghost would open it for me. I hadn't seen one yet but there's no doubt in my mind that they're here.
I test my luck once again and the door opens, "Thanks ghost!"
I walk around the room, it was massive. Jaw dropping beautiful. The bed had a canopy covering it and a large window covered by seemingly heavy curtains. At the opposite end of the room was a coffin. "Jackpot!" I yell. I approach the casket and it seemed good as new, clean and modern.
Do I open it? I battled myself on if it's right to open it or not. Until suddenly I saw another door that caught my eye, I walked to the door opening it just for it to be a bathroom. I didn't see a mirror on the wall and the bathroom was clean and had products all over the place. I now felt like I was intruding a little too much.
I stood before the casket and stared at it.
