[ Chapter Twenty-Seven: Could it be? ]

Age: 20

I GLANCED DOWN AT THE TIMER, willing the time to go faster but it seemed like life was against me at the moment. I took a deep breath before walking out of the bathroom, seeing Jeremiah look down at the balcony towards where Rupert was with my grandmother. Time went by quickly as I stared at my husband, the ringing sensation making us run to the bathroom.

We skidded into the bathroom, and just stared ahead the test, neither of us were close enough to see the sign. I glanced at Jeremiah from the corner of my eye and was met with the same stare before our eyes flickered to the test once more. I took a deep breath, and did my best to sooth my nerves, before I took a few steps forward.

"Are we actually ready for this? If it's positive, that means that we'll basically have 2 kids under 5." I commented to Jeremiah, my hand gripping the stick, not turning it to face me yet

"Pretty girl, it's better we face this now than never. It could be a false positive, we'll have a confirmation during your appointment later." Jeremiah reminded me, and I nodded my head at his words

"You're right." I muttered to myself, bringing the test up to my eyes and my eyes widened when I glanced at the sign, negative

"Negative? How do we feel about this?" Jeremiah asked me, his footsteps coming closer to me before I felt him place his head on my shoulder

"I'm not really sure. I'm slightly relieved but I thought it was going to be a positive, but we still have to check the other one." I nodded towards the remainder test

"You should check that one." I muttered, my eyes reading the word negative all over again in my head

"Okay." Jeremiah told me, pressing a kiss on the side of my cheek before he took a step back from, walking over to grab the other test, "It's positive."

I steadied my breathing, and made my way to stand beside him, reading the word positive. I glanced down at the test in my hand and set it on the edge, before nudging my husband to do the same. I stared at the test, their different responses swirling around my head as I debated internally if I actually was pregnant or not.

"Guess we'll find out at the appointment." I grinned weakly at my husband, still unsure how to process the fact that there was chance I was pregnant again
