[ Chapter Thirteen: Three's a crowd ]
AGE: 15
I SAT ON THE BLEACHER SHIVERING, not having an umbrella to cover me like my older sister. I knew that Jeremiah and our best friends currently had gym while we hid up in the courtyard. Joe had a basketball in his hand while working forward towards us.
"Miss Mia, Miss Mary, how long do you suppose you'll be out here, exposed to the elements?" Joe asked us in concern as he frowned, leaning a bit forward to cover me with his umbrella
"Forever." I gloomily stated before Mia could even respond back to him, frowning slightly but I smiled up at the man
"Well then, I'll keep myself occupied. Will you like my umbrella, Rosie?" Joe asked me softly and I shook my head at him
"No, thanks, Joey," I told him and he glanced at me in concern before walking away from us, heading to the basketball court
"Though I would find you two here from the madding crowd." I heard Michael's voice say as he rounded from around the bleachers
"Yeah, this is Lilly's, Mary's, and I secret spot. The A-crowd doesn't come up here because their hair blows." Mia replied back to him and I scooted a bit back to the bench to give them a bit of privacy
"Mary told me the truth a while back, but you, were you ever gonna come clean on your secret life? Or what?" Michael questioned her softly and from the corner of my eye, I could see him kneeling in front of her
"I was, kinda, sorta hoping, that no one would find out about it," Mia confessed to him and he let out a slight laugh
"Were you afraid your friends will hit you up for cash? Don't worry, I never will, honest. To either of you." Michael informed us and I nodded my head, not saying anything
"Wait, eyelash. Make a wish...smile. Okay, bye you two. See you Saturday, Mia." Michael said before he stood up, jogging a bit to warm up his body, and turned, jogging back
"Ooohhhh, does someone have a crush, sister?" I asked her, sliding on the bleacher to be next to her and I could see the smile on her face
"N-no, I have a crush on Josh." Mia corrected me though her voice was hesitant to do but her eyes never left Michael's retreating figure
