"So what are we doing?" I asked him.

"I was thinking a dinner and a movie. Is that okay?"

"Ya its perfect. Just not a scary movie."

"Aww come on ill protect you."

"I think im done with scary movies today."

"Ok." He parked in front of the movie theater.

"I know your mad Gabby is going on a date but dont take it out on the video game."

I glared at him. "I dont know what your talking about?

"Your suffocating the controller." He said taking it from me.

"Look you made a dent in it."

"Whatever dude, im not mad about Gabby I just think shes too young to go on a date right now."

"How old were you when you went on your first date?"

"18" He raised his eyebrows at me. "Yup I was 18."

"Your 17."

"I lied im really 21 but my parents didnt want people to think they raised a stupid kid so we lied and said I was 17."

"Isnt your older brother 20?"

"Ya im older than him."

He laughed. "You are something else Zac. And I know your lying cause ive known you since preschool."

"Damn I forgot about that."

"Ya and its ok if you like her its not like your breaking a law or something."

"Im breaking the bro code, you called dibs on her."

"Really? Are you crushing on someone else?" I asked him."

"No."

"Come dude who is it? Im your best bro you can tell me. Is it Jen. Its okay if you lik her shes pretty but not as pretty as Gabby and shes 10 times annoying."

"Its no one." He said getting red.

"Come on tell me. Your getting all red."

"Im gay. Over the summer I sort of hooked up with a guy." My mouth widened.

"I--um--you--do you want to stay for dinner?" I blurted. I didnt know what else to say. What can a guy say when they find out their best friend for 16 years is gay?

He got up. "I cant, my parents are expecting me. I gotta go." And he left and I was left on the floor with my mouth still open.
