Twenty Three

Lottie and Lando had a lovely anniversary meal. Lando had arranged for rose petals to be spread everywhere, they had spaghetti Bolognese just like their first date. They danced to music, they laughed until their sides hurt, they reminisced over the memories they made and their memories they were going to make. They didn't have a late night as Lando was racing the next day and any sudden movements still hurt Lottie.

The race had finished and Lando had placed 8th. Both Lottie and Lando said goodbye to his family that were travelling back straight after the race. Everyone was going to go out and have drinks to celebrate race weekend, Lottie and Lando, Lottie's article and Jess leaving to Milan. It also meant Hannah and Pierre could spend more time together. What Lando didn't know was that Lottie had arranged with the club to have Lando do a DJ set, it was something he had wanted to do for so long and the club was small and intimate enough for him to do that.

Jess, Lottie and Hannah had decided to get ready together at the Air BnB they had rented, this was the last time they would all be getting ready together. Jess would be leaving for Milan in less than a week.

"Right girls a toast before we go out" Lottie says holding up her prosecco glass. The other girls join. "We wish you all the best Jess on your new adventure. I wanted to thank you for everything you have done for me. I will love you always and I'll be visiting Milan all the time" Lottie's eyes welling up.
"Aww don't Lottie, you will make me cry. I'm excited but scared. I'm going to miss you Lottie so much but I will always be the Thelma to your Louise. Hannah we probably see each other all the time " She lets out a laugh.
"Here's to tonight" Hannah says holding up her glass.
"Cheers" The girls shout, clinking their glasses and then taking a sip.

They arrive at the club and head in, they can see the drivers and their girlfriends sat in the corner. They head to them, Lando notices Lottie getting up to greet her.
"Hey babe, I wondered when you were getting here" He kisses her, placing his arm around to the small of her back.
"Sorry we're late. Things got a little emotional and I've had to re-do my makeup 3 times"
"You look beautiful to me" He leans in kissing her again.
"Lottie, Hi" They turn to see a young man stood at the side of them.
"Dom, Hi" Lottie hugs him and then turns to Lando. "You obviously know who this is but Lando this is Dom, he's the resident DJ here"
"Nice to meet you mate." Lando shakes his hand.
"You ready for tonight?" Dom looks at Lando.
"What do you mean?" Lando looks at both Dom and Lottie confused.
"I haven't told him yet. I was just about to" Lottie laughs. Lando still looking on confused.
"Well when you're ready. You know where to find me" Dom smiles leaving the young couple.
"What's going on?" Lando turns to her, noting the mischievous grin on her face.
"Ok so you always said that you wanted to do a DJ set. So I spoke to Dom who said that you could do a set. Don't panic, it's a small club with a limited guest list so I thought it would be the perfect practice"
"Lottie, I don't know. I'm not sure"
"Lando Norris, I know you can do this and I'll be right here with you" She looks at Lando that still seems unsure. "Right I have an idea, if you need me if you start feeling nervous and need me by your side play that song I like, that you play all the time"
"Last night a Dj saved my life?"
"Yeah that one and I'll be up there straight away by your side"
"Ok, I can work with that. Well how about if you need me, you request your favourite song?"
"That's sorted then, If I need you I will ask for Be Right There by Diplo and if you need me play Last Night a DJ saved my life."
"Ok. Ok. I'm sweating" He wipes his forehead.
"Babe you have got this. Now go up there and show everyone how amazing you are" She kisses Lando and watches as he heads to the booth. Lottie joins the rest of the group, Hannah had sat near Pierre and they were laughing and Jess was talking to Charles and Arthur.
"Where's Lando going?" Carlos asks as Lottie grabs a drink and sits down.
"I arranged for him to do a DJ set. I hope everyone can support him"
"Of course we will" Max says pulling her in for a hug, he was slightly tipsy and had been singing loudly to Kelly.
The group watched as Lando took to the DJ Booth, Lottie could see how nervous he was. He looked at her, seeing her beautiful reassuring smile encouraged him.
He got in to the swing of things and did an amazing set, everyone was up and dancing, making Lando feed from that energy. He didn't need Lottie once but he knew no matter what she would always support him.
