Fifty Nine

Lottie and Lando pull up to the clinic ready for their scan. Max and Jess pull up at the side of them, Lottie and Lando had invited them so they could help arrange the correct colours for the gender reveal. Before getting out the car, Lottie looks to Lando and grabs his hand.
"Lan, I'm so nervous"
"We are doing this together, ok?" He kisses the back of her hand.
"Together. Now lets go see our babies"
They all walk in to the clinic and sign in at reception before taking a seat.
"Don't worry Lou, everything is going to be ok" Jess leans her head on Lottie's shoulder, sensing the anxiety.
"Thanks Jess" Lottie places a kiss on top of her head.
"Charlotte Clark?" The assistant shouts from the room.
"Here" Lottie gets up followed by Lando, Max and Jess. They all head in to the room and are greeted by the Dr.
"Nice to see you again Lottie, if you would like to lay back on the bed and lift up your shirt"
Lottie lays on the bed with Lando sat at the side of her. Max and Jess stood behind Lando watching. Lottie raises her shirt to reveal her growing baby bump.
"Right lets see these babies" The Dr smiles placing the cold gel on the bump.
"We were wondering if you could right down the gender of the babies, we don't want to find out just yet"
"That won't be a problem"
The Dr places the dopler on the bump, moving around and looking at the screen. They all look at the screen waiting for site. Just then a little baby appears on the screen.
"There we have twin A", The Dr turns the screen more. A smile creeps on everyone's face as the heartbeat echoes in the room. "We have a very healthy heartbeat and there we have twin b, who also has a healthy heartbeat" Lottie turns to Lando who has tears streaming down his face, she then looks to Max who also has tears streaming down his face.
"Are you both crying?" Lottie jokes with them.
"No I have something in my eye" Max responds wiping his eyes.
"I'll just admit it. Yes I am. That's our babies" Lando smiles before kissing the back of Lottie's hands.
They watch on the screen for a little them wriggling around.
"Have you felt any movement yet Lottie?" The Dr looks to her.
"I actually felt a butterfly feeling in my tummy last night"
"Ahh yes, that will be the babies movement. Obviously when you progress further in your pregnancy they will become stronger and for other people to see and feel too. Right I'll write down the gender of the babies and print you off the scan photos"
Lottie cleans the gel off her tummy and sits up in the bed.
"There we go, we have scan photos and in the envelope the gender of the babies. We will see you again in the next several weeks"
"Thank you very much"
They all leave heading out to the car park with big smiles on their faces.
"Right me and Max are heading out to get the gender balloons, we will see you when we get home" Jess says climbing in to the passenger side of the car.
"Bye" Lottie and Lando respond.
They climb in to the car and set off home.
"My parents are coming up tonight, they've asked if we want to go out for a meal. Do you want to go?" Lando looks to Lottie who is staring at the scan photos.
"I'd love to but can we watch a film in bed first, I just need to relax for a little bit"
"That sounds perfect but I'm picking the film this time"
"Deal"

They arrive home, heading up to their room, getting changed in to comfy clothes and getting comfy in bed. Lottie cuddles into Lando, who places a hand on her head gently stroking her hair. Not even 10 minutes in to the film, Lottie falls asleep with Lando smiling down at his girlfriend. How happy he was! He had his dream career which might not always go right but one thing he knows is right, is having Lottie by his side. Soon they will be parents and he couldn't think of anyone else he wanted to go through this journey with. He lay there for a while just enjoying the peace, a noise from downstairs brings him back from his thoughts. He carefully places Lottie's head on the pillow trying not to wake her before creeping out the bedroom door, closing the door and heading downstairs.
"Hey man, wondered where you were?" Max looks to him as he stands in the kitchen.
"Lottie's asleep in bed. You know what she's like, she has to nap for 3 hours a day just to have some energy for the night. We're having dinner with my family tonight"
"Oh that's great. Gives us chance to set things up for tomorrow" Jess smiles to him.
"Do you fancy streaming for a bit before you go out?" Max looks to Lando.
"Sure. As long as we don't wake Lottie"
"Yeah that's cool man"
"I'm going to head to my parents, I'll see you later" Jess smiles to them both before leaving.
