The clock stroked 7:30, Lottie had already informed Zac that Lando wouldn't be at track today. By this point she had not slept since the Dr had left. Luckily Lando was still asleep and she wasn't ready to stop keeping an eye on him. As she sat in the chair, she could feel herself drifting off, she re-adjusted herself in the chair to stop her from falling asleep. She had almost finished her book, she looked to see Lando still asleep, he was so pale still. She hated seeing him so ill, it was frightening. She looked to the clock, it was now 8am and she was really struggling, she decided to just close her eyes for a few minutes, just enough to keep her going until she knew Lando was ok.
Lando awoke, the clock at the side of him said it was 8:15am, he felt dreadful. His tummy hurt and he had the most dreadful headache. He looked to the side of him to see Lottie wasn't there as he sat up, he could see Lottie in the arm chair of the bedroom, the book resting on her bump and her head drooped with her eyes closed. He gently climbs out the bed, his energy levels were depleted. Heading over to her, he carefully strokes her back.
"What is it? Are you ok?" Lottie jumps up in a panic.
"It's ok baby. I'm ok" Lando looks to her.
"I'm sorry, I only drifted off for a couple of minutes. I'm fine, what do you need? She looks to him.
"I don't need anything. Have you been up all night?" He looks to her.
"I just wanted to make sure you're ok" She looks to him. He could see the tiredness in her eyes.
"Come on baby, lets get back in to bed" He helps her up and they climb in to bed, letting the covers swallow them in to a deep slumber.
Lando wakes first, the clock now showing 6:30pm, Lottie and Lando had slept all day. Lando felt a little better, his tummy had eased. Lottie was still sound asleep at the side of him. He carefully sneaks out the bed, heading to the balcony and closing the door behind him. He notices he had a missed call from his mum, he dials the number waiting for an answer.
"Hunny, are you ok?" Cisca worriedly answers the call. "I saw on Instagram you weren't well so you couldn't be at the track today."
"I'm ok. It's food poisoning. I started throwing up and did that for about two hours, Lottie called a Dr and they were able to give me some medicine and a drip. I've been asleep most of the day. I feel a little better, just scared to eat anything in case I'm sick again"
"Oh hunny, that sounds dreadful. I'd say if you can, have toast. It should settle your stomach and hopefully you can keep it down. Is Lottie ok? She's not unwell is she?"
"No she's luckily ok. She did however stay up all night to watch over me. When I woke up she looked like a zombie, bless her. She's still asleep now. She did pretty well taking care of me, I know how much she hates sick but she was with me through it all"
"She really is a good one. The love you two have for each other is infectious. Will you be at the track tomorrow?"
"I'm hoping to eat something and If I can keep it down, then yes I will be back racing"
"Take it easy hunny. I'll ring you tomorrow. Send my love to Lottie"
"Bye mum"
Lando ends the call, quietly heading back in to the room. He calls room service, ordering toast for himself and a cheese toastie for Lottie. He patiently waits for the food, answering the door and collecting without waking Lottie.
Luckily the toast does the trick and Lando is able to keep it down. He debates whether he should wake Lottie but she seemed to settled to disturb. He climbs back in to bed, cuddling in to her. Her scent was captivating, the smell of roses from her hair, her skin so soft. He closes his eyes.

Lando wakes the next morning to see Lottie on top of the covers, he lifts his head slightly to see the cheese toastie had been eaten, she was asleep. It looked like she had got up, showered and was half way through getting dressed before falling back asleep. He takes his phone out snapping her.

His movement causes her to stir, she turns her head to see him smiling at her.
"Hey you" She looks at him. "How are you feeling?."
"Better. I was able to eat something. Looks like you did too" He laughs to her.
"The cheese toastie was great at 3am. However the heartburn that followed after not so much"
"We probably should get up and ready for qualifying today"
"You sure you're well enough today" She looks at him concerned.
"Baby, I'll be fine."
