HONOR AMONG THIEVES: THE LEGEND OF AKIRA

PT. 14 THE DAY THE SKY DARKENED

A number of months past since the show down against Noctis and the rest of Akira's former group. After they were defeated, Akira had given an anonymous tip to the authorities on where to find and arrest them. Then Akira, Nokia and Falco left the area., knowing it would still take time to completely exonerate Akira of her supposed crimes. In the meantime the three of them just traveled around. During that time, Akira began to think about what she was going to do with her life. Since hopefully soon she wouldn't have to live on the run or hide anymore. It had been so long, that Akira wasn't quite sure what to do now. But one thing she did know was that what ever she did, Akira wanted to stay with Nokia and Falco, her family. One night Akira was sitting quietly by herself, just looking up at the night sky. Nokia came over and sat beside her.

NOKIA
What are you doing over here by yourself? Everything okay?

Akira smiled.

AKIRA
You know for the first time in a very long time. Yeah, it actually is.

NOKIA
Thats great. Then why are you sitting alone?

AKIRA
Don't worry, everything's fine. I was just thinking about something.

NOKIA
What?

AKIRA
I was thinking about what I'm gonna do with my life now. Once everything is all cleared up, I won't have to constantly be on the run anymore.

NOKIA
Good. So are you thinking of settling down somewhere?

AKIRA
Been considering it. It would be nice to finally be able stay in one place for once. But..

NOKIA
What?

AKIRA
It's just,  you and Falco. You two have become my family. And I don't want to leave either of you. (Joking) Especially a certain mage, who can be a real pain in my ass at times.

NOKIA
(Laughing) Hey.

Nokia playfully nudged Akira.

NOKIA
But seriously. I can't speak for Falco, though I'm sure he feels similarly. But whatever you decide to do, I'm gonna be right there with you.

AKIRA
I was really hoping you'd say that.

Akira smiled she hugged Nokia. They sat quietly for a bit. Then Akira thought about something.

AKIRA
Hey you remember what you said to me back at that inn shortly after we first met. Something about me doing something great.

NOKIA
Oh yeah, I remember. You thought I was crazy.

AKIRA
(Joking) Thought?

Nokia laughed a little as she shook her head,

NOKIA
What made you bring that up?

AKIRA
You still think that's true?

NOKIA
Yup.

AKIRA
Well I was just wondering if on the off chance that was true. You think stopping my old group was that "something great" you were talking about?

Nokia thought for a moment.

NOKIA
Don't get me wrong, it was good that you stopped them. Who knows how many people they would've hurt if you didn't go back and face them.

AKIRA
Well I did have help.

Nokia smiled.

NOKIA
But no, I don't think that was the "something great" that your gonna do.

AKIRA
(Joking) Okay then little miss "I have a feeling". What do you think it's gonna be then?

NOKIA
You make fun of me all you want. But I know I'm right. I still don't know what you're gonna do yet. But I know it's gonna be amazing.
