“…I should’ve stayed in my cell and died there. That would be a better death for me.”

“Aren’t you proud that you will die as their hero?”

You were awake, lying on the floor with your back leaning against the cold wall. You heard footsteps. “Is it time for dinner?” You mumbled beneath your breath.

You couldn’t tell whether it was breakfast, lunch or dinner. You were merely there and always waiting for them to feed you. You hugged your knees together feeling the coldness of the chains on your feet.

How many years have passed already?

You wonder but couldn’t remember. You let out a long sigh and open your eyes. The only source of illumination in the pitch-black environment was the flame from the torch that was moving towards you. Someone is coming.

You followed the light with your gaze until it stopped in front. After noticing that uniform, you scowl and wonder why they are here.

“It’s her.” You heard this familiar voice after such a very long time. The two of them exchanged stares with you, and were unable to recognize the man standing next to her.

He is short, his eyes glaring, and is damn good-looking. “It has been a very while Y/N, how are you doing?” She asked, opening up the door of the cell and walked towards you.

You watched her as she knelt down to the floor; she looked at you wearing her smile. She attempted to tuck your hair behind your ear and said, “I guess you’re doing fine.”

You slapped her hand in an attempt to attack, but before you could take her down, the man behind her dashed towards you and forcibly pinned you to the floor, leaving to groan in silence. You couldn’t even react, he was fast.

“This isn’t great idea, Hange.” This man speaks pinning you further to the floor. He was strong, and despite your efforts for trying, you were unable to escape from his grasp.

“Calm down Levi ,you’re hurting her.” She said, telling him to stop, he gave you a dark glare even you couldn’t see it before standing and step back from you.

You sat back giving him a quick glance and was already glaring at you.

How could this man be so attractive?

You shifted your gaze towards her and was now sporting her infuriating smirk.

“What do you want?” You asked with low toned. She remained cheerful as she sat on the floor. “Lend us your strength.” Straight forward she said.

You keep your stare at her, trying to figure out what she was trying to say. “She’s not a trustworthy; she might stab us from behind. She’s even filthy.” Levi remarked, you ignored him as Hange retorted, “She’s fine Levi, you worry too much.”

Levi went into silent and lean his back against the wall and is facing you, with disgusted look.

“It’s been nine years since you’ve been locked up here, and I know you wanted to break free.” You rolled your eyes getting annoyed.

“Just get to the point Hange.” You uttered, to which she smile, liking you being impatient, she then replied. “I want to make an arrangement, more likely an agreement with you.”

You only look at her without giving her any response, you merely listen and waited her to finish.

“I want you to be part of our regime for three months. Help us accomplished our goal and you’ll be free but only within that months. Isn’t that good you will have your freedom that you sought temporarily.”

You didn’t response instead you grimaced looking at her, disliking every word that comes out from her mouth.

“That is why I don’t like you scouts. I hated every decision you made, and no, I will not going to help. You’re asking for help from your enemy, stop making fun of me. Get out and give me peace.” You said to her, rejecting her offer.

She sighs deeply after being turned down. She closed her eyes utterly before opening them again.

This time, her stares were different, and they sent chills down your spine. She had the effect of being peering right into your soul.

“Aren’t you fascinated that everything outside is different? Since you were given a life sentence, and will not going to see what is outside right now. I know of your strong desire to be set free.”

You fell silent staring at her, you don't know but she was like talking right through your soul,

“I’ll let you live outside and do whatever you want, except killing without permission. I mean you only kill with money in return. So how was it, do you like our proposal?"

You remain silent looking for words to response. You look at the man behind again being anxious with his dark glares.

"By the way, this is Levi Ackerman, our strongest soldier, and you will be under his supervision so that we can make sure you don’t go berserk outside.”

You ‘tch’ and roll your eyes, and see Levi’s expression of stoicism. Even though he may be small, but you can tell he was strong just by looking how tough he is; you don’t want to try mess with him.

You return your gaze to Hange, as much as you wanted to reject, she will only going to force you even you say no.

“That’s not freedom…,” you remark, before adding, “…well, three months will not be bad.”

You extended your hand to shake hers. She smiled so brightly and gladly say, “Welcome to the survey corps, Y/N.”
