Levi was working on his desk while sipping his tea, and you were on the couch reading a book.

It was too silent between you two and very awkward. It was already late at night, and you couldn’t sleep so you chose to read some of his book in the shelves.

'They got married and live happily ever after.'

You close the book and place them on your lap after reading the last sentence of the story.

You look at Levi as his gaze fixated on the documents. You got to think of it, he was old enough to marry and start a family, which would be a better life than fighting and taking risks.

Levi lifted his face to gaze at you after noticing that you were staring at him.

“Are you seeing someone?” you asked and he didn’t react, but keep his stares at you.

You scratches your head trying to think on how to explain,

“I mean…you can’t be spending your life alone. I think you need someone to grow old with.”

After placing the documents on his desk, he sipped tea. “I prioritize saving and protecting the humanity inside these walls than having a family.” He replied.

You look at the book in your lap; his devotion to humanity is incredible that even the thought of having family escapes him.

“After achieving your goals and after all this fighting, it’s not like you’re going to be alone forever…you can take me as your wife.”

You turn to look at him as you said that and find him looking at you a bit surprised. He took another sip on his tea before setting it on his desk.

He folded his arms and leaned back. “I see you’re interested in me.” He said. You smile as you return his gaze.

You replied, “Why not, you’re fine man. But it’s too bad I’m returning to my cell after these few months, so I’m not still qualified to be your wife.”

He ‘tch’ed and looked at the book on your lap as if he understood something.

“You’re only wanted to marry someone like me because of my status. Do you think that if I marry you, you will be set free and able to live a happy life? Stop dreaming that is not going to happen?”

You pouted as you stood to return the book to its shelf.

“You’re a bit harsh, a maiden like me also whishes also to get married and have a family. If ever I had a family on my own, I’d treat them right.”

The tone of your voice got lower in the last words of your statement after remembering your old days.

Levi looked at you after hearing the saddening of your voice, he watches your back as he said, “You couldn’t have your dream life here, as we are living in such a cruel world.”

You walked through the shelves letting your fingers run through the books that were orderly filed.

“You’re right, being born in this world is a nightmare.” you responded and continue to walk but got halted when Levi asked, “Do you really want to marry me?”

You looked at him after hearing it, you walk back to the couch and sat down. You nodded in reply.

He looked at you for a while before saying, “Since we're already living in cruelty, after this fighting, I’ll take you as my wife.”

You smile in response to him, you know that it was only for nothing, impossible to happen, and even though there was no feeling involved, it still made you happy.

Levi back to his work as he said, “Don’t get too excited, this war will never end.” You chuckle as if you find it funny.

You took a stand and walk towards him, he stared at you frowning.

“I’m not getting my hope up but we don’t know what will happen in the future that is why you need to keep your words. I will keep that in mind.” You said in front of him.

His expression changed as you leaned in closer and moved your hands to cup his face. He was perplexed as he stared at you.

Without saying a word, you press your lips against his lips causing him to stiffen on his seat.

His eyes widened unable to react because of what you did. It only lasted for less than a second and pulls away.

He gave you a startled face and was dumbfounded. “That serves as our agreement’s seal. Let’s get married when this mess over.”

You return and recline on the couch as if it was nothing. Levi was very astonished on what just had happen, and even couldn’t believe that he let you kiss him.

He was only looking at you as you were comfortably lying on this couch, what you did had cause him in uneasiness.

You close your eyes to sleep with a smile on your lips. Although it is impossible to happen, you don't know but the foolish agreement you made leaves you very satisfied and happy.
