Your eyes were closed while you lay on the ground beneath the tree. The surrounding is peaceful and relaxing as the sun begins to set.
You were there for a long while now; you suddenly heard gunshots not very far from where you are. You furrowed your brows as you stood up in repeated hearing.
"Is it from the shooting ground?" You walk towards the direction of where you hear these shots, wondering who that person that still is practicing when the sun is already setting.
As you got there, you noticed your younger brother practicing shooting by himself. "You're only wasting your bullet; you haven't even shot the splatter target in the center."
This is what you’re worried the most, him joining the scouts. He almost jumped in surprised and look at you terrifyingly.
"Y-You're really stalking me, am I your target?" he stuttered as he watch you walking towards him.
As you approached him and we're about to take his gun when he fall back. You took a deep sighed and reached for it grabbing it from him. "Watch me, I'll show you how to shoot."
When you aim for the center and shoot the gun smoothly, it hits exactly where you intended. "That's how you should kill," you said.
When you looked at him you saw him staring at the splatter with glistering eyes, very amused to which you smile, returning the gun to him.
He took it without hesitation. “You need to see your target and point your gun that you intend to shoot. Your focus must be on the gun’s sights.”
You watch him as he was aiming for the center of the splatter. “You must keep--,” You were startled when he suddenly pulled the trigger and shoot. Expectedly he failed to aim the center.
“Relax your shoulder,” you told him lowering his shoulder as it looks very tense. He put the gun on his side and looked down, he was very disappointed.
He uttered, “I’m such a failure, I’m not good at fighting and even in shooting. I do not excel in anything.” You sighed as you help him to aim precisely by directing his hands.
“While aiming at your target, keep both eyes open and focus. Relax your breathing, inhale and exhale, do not pause. Slowly pull the trigger, accuracy is developed with slower pulls, when everything is perfect, shoot.” He then press the trigger and fires at the splatter.
He gasps in astonishment as it's success. “I did it. Did you see that?” You smile as you see the happiness in his face, never seen him like this.
You honestly want him to leave the scout because you can’t ensure his safety outside since you’ll be in front and will be positioned far from him. If only you can put him on your side, you can keep him safe.
“Inhale, exhale about halfway then fire.” He jumps in excitement when he was finally aimed the very center. “I did it again.”
You smile bitterly, looking how happy he is in his small achievement and it makes your heart ache. You wanted to give him a big dear hug and tell how much you adore and missed him.
But he doesn’t know who you are. It is better that way, he might only get disappoint when he learn that the shadow killer is his sister. Maybe despises you since you were kids when you left.
“Thank you again.” Ethan thanked you and bid a goodbye waving his hand. You smile and waved back. The only way you can do is to hope that he won’t die in the battlefield.
“Did you tell him that you were his long-lost sister?” You were startled to hear this familiar voice again.
You look at him regretting when he was already staring at you. You averted your eyes and began to walk, you replied, “Why would I? He will only be disgusted so keep your mouth and don’t you dare to tell him.”
You look at him and he’s now looking straight forward. His side feature was kind of beautiful, his jaw was perfected. He was short but looking very tough.
He always wore this face of stoicism, barely emotes and left you in wonder what struggles he endured.
Staring only at this man your heart go crazy, you now realizes why you’re feeling this way but only afraid to accept and admit it.
You were startled when he abruptly turned to gaze your way, so you looked aside right away.
“You stop being clingy. Did I cause you uncomfortable for any reason?” he says to which catches you off guard. You didn’t realize not until he mentioned it.
You are very clingy back then, and having fun while upsetting him. “I know it does annoys you, don’t worry I won’t do it again,” you said without looking at him.
Suddenly he offers his arm to you, to your surprise it leaves you dumbfounded and lips lighty parted.
“In case you miss clinging on me,” he then said, you were very surprised, unexpected to hear it from him.
You only stare at his arm and your eyes is filled with hesitations. Levi seems to notice it; he directs your hand to rest on his arm. “Why hesitating, have you forgotten your proposal to me?”
Your eyes widened looking at him. His words today left you speechless and surprise. Your hearts goes feral.
It’s a bad sign. I’m gone insane.
You two were heading now in the headquarters as Levi told you that Hange wanted to see you.
You both remained silent, neither of you making an attempt to talk. Still clinging on him, you’re taking some glances to him as you two walk; you couldn’t help yourself but to look at him.
You don’t know if he notices, but what you’re doing is way more noticeable and maybe he only ignoring it.
You’re thinking of why he was letting you to touch him and clinging unto him. He was never like this.
Levi opened the door and you put your hand down from clinging as you two entered. You see Hange on her desk busy with paper works. She lifted her gaze and smiles as she sees you.
You took a seat after she offered. You watch her took a stand and walk over to the shelves, where she pulls something out.
It was a long box, as you stare at it you're wondering what it might be. She placed it on the table in front of you. You look at it confused.
“I summoned you here because I’m giving you this,” she said as she opens the box. You’re eyes widened looking at it very surprised. “This once belongs to you.” You’re very astonished as you take a hold of it.
This brings back memories. This is the sword that you were using back then, and it has already killed countless people. You take a peek of its blade only unsheathing halfway, still fine and very sharp.
“Kill many people as you want with your blade. Lend us your strength, we need now the power of shadow killer.”
