" Did you notice that notice on the notice board .." Claire said... " Now I have to study day and night ..."
Its nothing new she always behaves this way . She doesn't attend classes , fools around and plays whole year and when exams come she becomes anxious. Even before our friendship. When I hated her . But at the end of the day she still manages to get good grades. Nobody knows how . She doesn't even cheat .
" Did you see it ...The notice board I am doomed ..."
Well Lucas is very unlucky in this regard . Surprisingly he works hard all year along but unlike Claire only manages to get average scores .
" My father said that if I didn't manage to get A this year , he will never allow me to play football..." Lucas . " Claire please tutor me ..."
" Are you kidding ? I haven't read anything yet ..." Claire.
" But you still manage to get good marks ..." Lucas ..." M please help me with studies and I will pay you with money ...."
" No ... I already have part -time job . So not interested . " I said .
" No!!!" Lucas dramatically .
I honestly don't understand them . Why do they panic ?
Our school has especially strict exam system . We have weekly assessments as well as half yearly and final exams . Its as if we are only born to five exams . Even though they applied grade system instead of giving marks but we still have toppers . Examination system is as useless as ever instead of improving students' grades it depresses them .
I went to library to find lots of students studying there. Sam was also there . And writing something on his notebook . It was noisy as well as crowded in the library.
Well , I have never been anxious about studies . Its nothing big for me at least but I am still concerned , only a bit though . Suddenly Sam arrived out of nowhere and
asked : " Can sit here ....?".
I was sitting on the spot where there was a large table and lots of plastic chairs around it. And no one was sitting on any of that chair . But Sam particularly decided to sit the chair besides me . Ok , either I am the one who is crazy or Sam is really behaving being weird .
I am out of library I want to eat something first . Exams are only two weeks away and another year passed yet I haven't created anything . Even the drone invented was a total failure . I again heard some noises . Oh , its nothing special Lucas is fighting again with Jeremy's friends 🥊🤜🤛🥊 . Its simple nutjobs of class A are against nutjobs class B , they always fight over silly things . Probably because their brains are underdeveloped .
" You have gone too far ! " Lucas .
" Why ? I just said the truth . The girl is fat hence she can't get a guy ..." Roy who is Jeremy's underling . The red haired guy .
Now that I think Lily is also standing right besides Jeremy . She looks pissed .
" Stop Lucas ! I can handle this by myself ! " Lily . 🤚🤚🤚
" So the fat chick can speak . Looks like the s...."
And before could say anything else he was fell down because Serena kicked him . And now she is punching him ....Oh, she also smacked his head against the locker. While everyone else is shocked . Well... I should leave .
" Why are you late ? " Lily.
" Traffic jam ..." Serena still panting. And they walk away while Roy is lying on the ground like a chewing gum . Well, I must admit Serena is pretty terrifying .
" Hey , M ...Where are you going ?" Lily asked as she moves towards me with Lucas and Serena . While Serena was still red with anger Lucas was oddly quiet .
And I forgot where I was going . To the classroom .My stomach grumbled with hunger . Now I remember I was going to fetch some food from the cafeteria.
" I was going to the canteen ...." , I said.
" Good , let us go together . You know , now that I think about it there are many things that I didn't get in Maths . Can you teach me ? " , Lily asked .
" I don't know ..." I hesitated
" Good ! I will see you after school ..." Lily left after saying that .
And school is finally over. I want to go home as soon as possible . I have to go to work , then go home and then study for exams . It too much to handle already.
As I was heading towards my house I saw two people walking side by side ; Lucas and Claire .
" I can 't believe this dad snatched my car and phone after he heard that I was locked up..." Lucas .
" And because of you my dad also did same thing to me ..." Claire.
" How is that my fault ? " Lucas.
" Your father suggested it to mine . " Claire.
" Man ...Today is the worst day of our lives. Exams are coming . I fought with Roy ..." Lucas .
" And you still haven't confessed to Lily ..." Claire .
" What ?! What are you even saying ? " Lucas .
" Don't try to be tough while you are still blushing ..." Claire .
" No I am not ..." Lucas.
" Whatever....First we need to study with decent grades to get our cars and mobiles back ..." Lily .
" Yeah , you are right ? And I don't like Lily . Its that she is cool and cute. She also wears nice clothes . Her smile is good . Anyone would be mesmerised by her ..." Lucas .
" Well , I am not . " Claire.
" Its because you are stupid and you have very bad taste in people .." Lucas
" Just say whatever you want . I still get better grades than you. " 😝😝😝Claire.
Why am I listening to this stupid banter ?
" Hey , M, I didn't realise you were walking behind us ..." Claire " So ,where are you going ? "
" To work ..." I said .
" You are really admirable among all rich kids ."Lucas.
" Yeah , please don't forget me when you are rich . " Claire.
" She is already rich , Claire ...." Lucas.
Ow , I am getting headache . I need to get out of here .
" You are heading to the other way ... Ok , bye ..."
Finally I am alone . The road is as busy as always. People are in rush . Cars are moving fastly , shops are busy , men and women are heading towards somewhere . There is noise pollution , air pollution but there are still some small plants in the middle of road withstanding all difficulties . Why are we all in rush ? Why are we in so much hurry ? Sometimes all of this seems so meaningless ...Its all so absurd .
" You are also here..." Sam who appeared out of nowhere.
" Why are you here ? " I asked .
" My cycle got punctured ..." Sam answered .
" O... " ...Awkward . Its better to be silent in such situation and think about something else like life and death . No , what is wrong with me today . Let us think about how to fix the drone . I should try to modify its internal structure and propeller. What if I add some additional parts to it ? But what additional parts . What about hydraulic press . But ....
" You are going to the garage ...." Sam .
" Yeah..." I said
" Good ...So you still think science is better than any other subject ?" Sam
" Of course , its because of science humans have come this far ..." Me
"Yes but language and literature has played a big role in moulding our modern society. Its because of communication that business flourish and scientists get fundings out of it ..."Sam
" Well, science is the study of nature . Science helps us to understand how nature works , how human body functions ,how to build buildings ,how to ...." I argued.
" But all those things were only stored , transferred and documented via literature..." Sam .
Before I could argue more bus finally arrived and we rode got on it . 🚌🚌🚌
" Even this bus was developed because of science ..." I said .
But he ignored me and payed for my ticket with his bus pass.
" Why did you....? " I asked .
" I lost the argument ..." He shrugged .
But ....What is he saying ?
